In my travels I talk to random strangers, broaching significant current events, e.g. Ukraine, the execution judgments against the 528 Morsi supporters, etc. The usual response I get from young adults, "I don't pay any attention to the news." Mission accomplished, the joosmedia has the millennials totally burned out on keeping track of the world around them and CARING about their future ("WHAT future?!?!?!").

I do the same thing, since I'm on the bus now. I just randomly talk to people, no one knows anything of current events, people don't even know about Crimea or Ukrane, but they can talk about the NCAA basketball tournament till they are red faced, and so can I, but there are more pressing issues...

People are going to wake up more and more very very soon.................
otherwise they will continue in a Zombiod state and the flesh will start falling from their bodies......................
on the other hand why the f@ck would anyone want to wake up and see what is going on....................
its weird isnt it though at times when so much is happening and people are fully consumed in some world of trivia.
Take fiction for instance..............how much of peoples lives are consumed by fiction, be it movies, books ect.......FICTION...........some people its probably a very high % of their conscious waking life.......

Dan, Q. Can you name one person currently serving in the United States Senate?EE, A. I'm sorry Dan, currently there is no one serving in the United States Senate...only criminals acting like they are serving. They are only there to enrich themselves on the tax payer's dime. The last person to serve the people was Senator Ron Paul. He has a reputation of being the only senator that was uncorrupted through bribery. Frankly Dan, I'm embarrassed for this bunch of career politicians that only serve thenselves and act like the interests of the people of the United States are of any concern at all. Dan, If I had any power in government, these imposters would be stripped of their wealth, publicly flogged and imprisoned for the rest of their natural born days.Did I answer your question Dan...I think I did.Hrrrm EE, psst RP was in congress...;D

Some country's the people are fine tuned to the politics going on, on others like in the states here , not much or all. Which is a major reason we have dug the hole we are in now. It is not majority rule, it is minority rule of the ones that vote, the majority can not care or get their heads out of a very personal and smelly place. To look and see what is going on outside of their circle. Major sore point with me, but have given up because most here want to keep snoozing.

And a very tiny minority wishes to cling to his cherished delusion that 'participating in the process' makes a shit (other than signing off on approving of the screwing that's being applied).

Better than bitching without trying. At least some do try and make changes within the system by doing unlike just bitching about it and doing nothing.

They ask me every day at the bus hub, if I am registered to vote... I always say "NO!, and I don't want to be, the political system is bullshit." half the time we end up going and getting drinks, they feel me on that, usually it's a young black guy... "Don't get me started on the false dichotimy of the left-right paradigm..." the ones that will listen I blow thier minds... espessially after a few brews.

Which leads into what I just posted about, the minority that do vote, end up electing these ass hats that have driven this country into the mud. And this apply's to all other country's that have citizens that do not vote, but complain about the outcome, they have no skin in it. imo Too wrapped up into their world, or lazy to go out and do it.
In the states most hate to reguster to vote, because they may get called for jury duty, and that disrupts their daily life's. So a bunch do not, even want to take the chance. At least I have seen voting does make a diff, on the local level, not sure for sure of the national level the way the politics are setup here. When I vote, now I am forced(not a clear choice) to make a choice to vote of the "less evil"
but at least I try, delusional or not, unlike some!

If you 'vote' then you have NO (as in ZERO) 'right' to complain about ANYTHING since by 'voting' you've sanctioned WHATEVER horseshit they pull.

I pretty much agree, I don't register to vote, because if it's between Evil, or less-evil, I'm not voting for evil. And a vote for a 3rd party is like taking a shit in the woods, no one knows. I also am not going to jury duty, shit the shit jobs I work pay more... and I'm not signing up to get fucked. On top of that I'll be the most focused juror there, one IS truley innocent until the preponderence of the evedence digs his grave. It would be like.... whats that movie with Jimmy Stewart... 12 angry men or some shit?
I almost admire you, but you are probably at least twice my age, I'm done with this political system unless we are going coup de ta. Ron paul taught me a very valuable lesson.

This is my system, I knew it stank for decades, but at least I try, local some good successes, national, not so sure.
But I try, and will not give up because I hope others will feel the same (this time) when voting to make a change. But I do take exception to the ones that dam me for trying , especially if they do not even try.
Hard to respect views from those that do not try.

The only news worth knowing about is the news that has yet to happen. The rest is but trivial pursuit.
Especially these days when news is as fictional as reality TV. Might as well watch Dancing with the Stars as watch CNBC or Fox.
It's Infotainment, no more advantageous than watching a foootbll game...
I was a news junkie for many years. Now I've come to realize it's no more than an addiction. Just another diversion to attach my self identity to.
My knowledge of a crisis in the Ukraine or the name of a US senator does absolutely no good for myself or anyone else.
It's a far more insidious addiction than fiction is, because with fiction at least I know it's fiction. With "News" I can no longer assume to know anything.

Perhaps it would help to understand that the oath of the politician in office is given to the people who did not vote? Those who voted participated in a game of chance and agreed to the outcome. Those who didn't vote have a reason to expect a certain level of performance from the new incumbent.
Rather than sit back and complain about the situation I posted a legal notice in the local newspaper requesting anyone who wanted to participate in a charitable trust based upon the U.S. constitution to send their oath and bond to my notary assistant. I got not a single response but at least I tried. So I recorded the result and now I can look any government actor in the eye and ask why they didn't respond when they were given a chance.

All part of being a good citizen, whateverinthehellthatmeansanymore. Not much would I change in my life, If I did I would not be me now. Looking back, overall I am sorta happy with my choices.
But I will still play the game. But at least I am watching, and will call them on anything , until they prove to me it is up and up.
I still love this country, even the screwed up one that is not the one I grew up in. I fight where I may make a diff.
Still take a dim view of those that gave up without trying and dislike/hate this country. But I am old school, and sorta glad my time here is limited, more so everyday that I make forward.
Have a nice life.
Out from this thread! Nothing that I can say can change anything with anyone, so why try?

It's just smart to entirely avoid the joosmedia, I think they're being smart by doing so however I get the impression they're not exactly sure why they're avoiding it - other than maybe getting that feeling, "Someone is pumping me full of bullshit."
