Steven Seagal: ‘Brother Putin … is one of the greatest living leaders'
Though most of the free world might beg to differ, aging action star Steven Seagal thinks Vladimir Putin is making the right move in Crimea. During a recent interview in Bucharest with Rossiskaya Gazeta, which USAToday (http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2014/03/27/steven-seagal-hails-brother-vladimir-putin/6951775/) notes is a state-run newspaper, the 61-year-old called
Putin "one of the greatest living world leaders," adding that he's also a "friend" whom Segal would "like to consider … like a brother."
It seems the unlikely pair have been buddying up over their shared interest in exercise and health, and that Seagal finds the American posiition on Crimea "idiotic."
"It's no secret that I have Republican views and policies of President Obama does not appeal to me," Seagal said. " In many ways it is not even his fault, but the people who are in his inner circle who have views on world politics are diametrically opposed to Russia. In my opinion, a situation where the U.S. and Russia are on opposite sides of the fence is abnormal. And I see my task is to do everything to facilitate the normalization of relations. All will benefit from this.
