Well the funding and backing definitely come from the terrorist in D.C. That's already been established.

A SU27 is said to have been taken down.
Wonder if they took it down with an american BB gun while it was showing off its "toto" dancing skills?

I guess going around in circles at 100mph at low altitude is like taking out a spider with a shot gun.
I can only imagine theres a reason why the US is going away from conventional fighter aircraft. I bet the small arm missile technology advancements renders any aircraft obsolete....especially stupid aircraft that like to hang around during highly advanced missile engagements showing off it likes to fly real slow upside down, inside out and backwards.

This is actual footage from the scene of the reported shoot-down. The Su-27 was designed as an air superiority fighter, not for close air support. In this instance the shot-down aircraft was an extremely easy target for a MANPADS. OTOH a Su-25 (close air support) was designed to survive a MANPADS and still make it back to base.

If it can be knocked out of the sky at low altitude it'll get knocked out of the sky in high altitude just the same.

Air superiority of what calibre?
The footage reminded me of the vietnam era F4's having that much spent fuel coming out the ass end (black exhaust is not good at that low speed). And the F4 was nicknamed the flying brick and needed huge fuel burning engines just to keep it in the air on a straight flight path.
No wonder the SU27's are known for flaming out at low speeds and nosing to the ground into a ball of fire......you cant turn on a dime at high speeds so the vector thrusting isnt any real advantage.

Any wonder the US doesnt look at the SU27 as any real threat?

Well it did look a lotta dead weight going on there.

Russians seem to be working the craft perfectly here, unarmed occupiers, yet somehow an Su-27 gets brought down...

With no real information regarding how it crashed it could have just as easily been pilot error. Besides, how do you know it wasn't brought down with a MANPADS and how do you know that whomever shot it down was 'unarmed'??* The Su-27 is a HUGE fighter jet, larger than the F-15, place one at a very low altitude (with little to no room to deploy countermeasures) directly over someone with a MANPADS and it's a foregone conclusion as to what will happen - it doesn't matter WHAT make of fighter it is or how 'stealthy' it is.

*Seeing as there are no reliable reports about anything regarding this incident EXCEPT, "A Su-27 was reportedly shot down."

I'm wondering if it wasn't turned over or defected as many of armored support seem to be doing...
