ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – A Roswell police officer is being hailed a hero for saving a woman from her burning home.

Just after midnight Saturday, officer Chris King responded to a house on fire on the 300 block of Swinging Spear Road.

He got there before firefighters did and when he was told someone was trapped inside, he kicked the door open and went in.

King was able to pull the 39-year-old woman out, but both had to be rushed to the hospital. Neighbors say King collapsed, but he was later released from the hospital.

The woman remains there, and according to neighbors, she was badly hurt.

Wow! A hero cop. Almost an oxymoron. He probably busted down the door just to kick the burning woman.

Would that be a positive lie, or a negative truth? :)

Summarily the news anchor appears to be a New Mexico crypto-jew sur-named Garate found at this link.

To the End of the Earth: A History of the Crypto-Jews of New Mexico

Stanley M. Hordes explores the remarkable story of crypto-Jews and the tenuous preservation of Jewish rituals and traditions in Mexico and New Mexico over the past five hundred years. He follows the crypto-Jews from their origins in medieval Spain and Portugal to their efforts to escape persecution by migrating to the New World and settling in the far reaches of the northern Mexican frontier. Drawing on individual biographies, family histories, Inquisition records, letters, and other primary sources, Hordes provides a richly detailed account of the economic, social, and religious lives of crypto-Jews during the colonial period and after the annexation of New Mexico by the United States in 1846. He concludes with a discussion of the reemergence of crypto-Jewish culture and the reclamation of Jewish ancestry within the Hispano community

Anybody that saves somebody deserves respect, be it a cop or a carpenter or a street urchin fuck up.
