Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 26, chapter 2, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes,

is amended by adding section 26-305.03, to read:

A. THE DIVISION SHALL DEVELOP PREPAREDNESS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE

PUBLIC REGARDING THE TYPE AND QUANTITY OF SUPPLIES, INCLUDING FOOD, WATER AND

MEDICAL SUPPLIES, THAT EACH PERSON IN THIS STATE SHOULD POSSESS IN
8
PREPARATION FOR AN ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE THAT MIGHT OCCUR OVER THE UNITED
9
STATES. THE DIVISION SHALL POST THE PREPAREDNESS RECOMMENDATIONS ON ITS
10
WEBSITE AND SHALL UPDATE THE PREPAREDNESS
RECOMMENDATIONS AT LEAST
EVERY FIVE

YEARS.

B. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, "ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE" MEANS A

BURST OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY OCCURRING IN THE FORM OF A RADIATED ELECTRIC

MAGNETIC FIELD OR CONDUCTED ELECTRICAL CURRENT CAUSED BY A CORONAL MASS

EJECTION FROM THE SUN, DETONATION OF A NUCLEAR BOMB HIGH IN EARTH'S UPPER

ATMOSPHERE OR A MAN-MADE ELECTROMECHANICAL DEVICE

Honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't been discussed before. During my Electronic warfare training while I was in the military it was openly admitted than a 500 dollar device could shut down the entire United States if detonated at the right altitude. The device is called a Flux Compression Generator (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explosively_pumped_flux_compression_generator) and was first developed by the Russians in the 1950's.

Say you take a highly modified model rocket, launch the device about 10 miles up before detonation above Kansas. The EMP wave will cover a little over 90% of the United States. What's really scary with that device is that it creates an EMP in the microwave range which will even bypass Faraday cages. It is no toy and in todays current digital infrastructure is the equivalent of a nuclear device. Able to destroy a civilization without the physical destruction and radiation fall out.

So all the high tech surveillance devices will get wiped too?

Only tangible assets will be used as money?

Those with silver and gold will fare better then those that thought they were useless barberous relics?

The corporate police will lose their power and become the targets of those they abused?

Bankers and Wall Street thieves will become useless and have to depend on all the people they robbed, to survive?

Family, friends and neighbors will become a communuity again and will look out for each other.

Kids and people will no longer be a slave to their iPhones, walking around like zombies with their necks bent and eyes glued to these devices that were made to control them?

People that can farm and have useful skills will be the only ones that are important and in demand?

The liberal part of society will collapse with many parishing while waiting for government help that doesn't come.

A new industrial era will begin that produces products that are needed, rather then the wasteful useless junk people thought they needed from China.

Nah, nuclear is way over-hyped...we just had three total meltdowns pouring into the atmosphere and ocean, nothing happened and no one is worried, or cares.
Everyone is still eating pacific fish, going to the beach and swimming in the ocean.

As long as you're not right near a reactor melting down, you'll be fine.
