HEMET, Calif. (AP) — A 14-year-old boy suspected of beating an 87-year-old woman at a senior housing complex has been arrested in California.
Police tell the Riverside Press-Enterprise that he was arrested last night at a hotel in Temecula (teh-MEHK'-yoo-lah) following a search. Police say the arrest warrant alleges attempted murder, burglary and torture.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested on earlier in the April 17 attack. He's being held without bail at a juvenile facility.
The assault occurred during an apparent robbery at the Camelot Independent Living complex in the Riverside County city of Hemet.
Investigators say it appears the victim wasn't specifically targeted. She's in critical condition.
