So this morning I see the my Android phone has an update for me "ok whatever" mistake #1. After updating, I see a new app called Google Drive. Open it, says "A great place to keep your files safe" or some bs. Go in and see about a dozen papers that I had written at the community college 5-6 years ago, complete with my full name and everything.... just as I had written them with instructor notes and all. Needless to say, I was/am a little spooked. I guess mistakes 2 - 100 were getting this damn thing in the first place, I have to get rid of it

you mean it automatically searched the web and found work that you had done, using only your name as a search term (+whatever AI is built into it) ?

I was just looking at a smart-phone to buy without service for use as a video recorder. $20, no service, but an useful little thing if you have fingers the size of a baby monkey's.

No shit, I can't do it. I have really been noticing how many people that just live for these things. Anywhere people sit or stand or walk they are glued to them. I decided I don't need one at all.

I refuse to get a smart-ass phone. I'm getting a new 'dumb' phone (aka a feature phone for some odd reason since it has no features) soon, a Nokia 515.

I bet my current Nokia 6010 phone is older than yours.

These are documents that I only typed, printed out, and handed in to the instructor, and there is no way do delete the documents or the app. It's all stored on a massive Google server somewhere. I guess every thing that students turn in now are uploaded to "The Drive"

Did you ever email them to yourself using gmail? Your google account is probably attached to both your gmail and android phone. It may have automatically added anything you sent yourself to the google drive.

Wife tells me that her smart phone at one point became too full with photos that the Android told her download them to the internet, with one click she had them all pasted into a youtube movie.

What a wonderful invention! I can't imagine a world without them.

I have a Samsung flip phone with Sprint. It's wonderful...it makes phone calls and text messages too! I'm just amazed with it.

That's most likely the scenario that happened. If I send an attachment with my gmail account the document (was my resume) ended up in my Google Drive.

Google turns out to be 'Big Brother'. I have a GMail account, but I only use it to receive mail. I try to use Google as little as possible. I see no difference between them and the NSA regarding privacy issues.

No cell phone tower in my area so I don't even have one......not even a cell phone.........WI-FI is everywhere so that they should also tie the cell phone to the WI-FI.
