Every family has their own tater salad recipes. This is one that I grew up with, made two ways, moms way and grandma's way.

Not going to give how much of anything just what went into them, because of the variations needed by how big or little for the batch wanted.

Skin and cutup taters. and boil until still firm but can spear with fork.

Hard boil a bunch of eggs, and then chunk cut them.

Chop up/dice scallions with the green, or reg onions,

Pickles Granny's were sour, mom used sweet.

Black olives chopped.

Mustard for a taste tang.

Mix all together adding the the mustard or mayonnaise or miracle whip.

Pinch of garlic salt as needed, black/white pepper depending on taste.

Granny use mayonnaise, Mom used miracle whip! One or the other added to the mix until the mix smooths out.

I guess it could be called a egg tater salad because there was always a bunch of eggs used. At least that is the way I make it.

I prefer granny's way, today I look at miracle whip and question it on what is in it. Tho used to love it.

LOL and dont forget pimentos, and celery.

There are two types of pimento. One is the mini red chili pepper you might find stuffed in the center of your olive. No surprise that it is a pepper, because the Spanish word for pepper is pimiento--just like pimento, but with the extra letter "i".

.......and boil the potatoes with the skin on, wait til almost cool and peel, that way they aren't to mushy when you stir the salad. ..

Pimentos and celery, have never been invited to join any tater salad in this house.

But have been used in salads here. Pimento cheese and celery are a tasty combo.

Do tell how or what you use!
