Toddler critically burned during SWAT raid - Throws flash bang in baby's crib
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=c68_1401404361
A family says a SWAT team raided its home in the middle of the night and seriously injured a 19-month-old boy with a stun grenade.
The child is at the Grady Memorial Hospital burn unit, and is in a medically induced coma. Phonesavanh said she was at her sister-in-law’s home, in Habersham County, early Wednesday when police raided the house. "It's my baby. He's only a baby. He didn't deserve any of this," Phonesavanh said.
Cornelia Police Chief Rick Darby confirmed that the raid took place at the home just before 3 a.m. He said a multijurisdictional drug unit issued a warrant and organized the SWAT operation. Deputies said they bought drugs from the house and came back with a no-knock warrant to arrest a man known to have drugs and weapons. "Everyone's sleeping. There's a loud bang and a bright light," Phonesavanh said. "The cops threw that grenade in the door without looking first and it landed right in the playpen and exploded on his pillow right in his face." They arrested Wanis Thometheva, 30, during the raid.

Wow.
"The cops threw that grenade in the door without looking first and it landed right in the playpen and exploded on his pillow right in his face."
and from the other article
Hopefully he will make a full recovery.
Having a 'full recovery' after having a grenade go off right in one's face when a baby is NOT possible. Someone has been smoking crack.
Killing and maiming in the name of the law. And of course it's 'tragic accident'(ly on purpose). Really. An ACCIDENT.

And these drug pusher thugs had no clue that eventually they'd be caught and swat team raided?
Not even going to mention the types of dangerous people coming to the house and buying drugs isn't putting the toddler in danger....some parents!
And now the cops are getting the blame?
Just love these people who yap their mouths off about others not taking responsibility and then you read their comments that are completely hypocrite and blame the cops....hahahahahaha.....!
Yes, very unfortunate, but clearly the blame should not rest on the cops 100%.

Disobeying the scribbles of 'politicians' IS NOT A CRIME.
Voluntarily interacting with people via mutual consent IS NOT A CRIME.
BUT, being the aggressor using proactive offensive violence is IMMORAL and UNJUST which is the very definition of CRIMINAL.

Yes, very unfortunate, but clearly the blame should not rest on the cops 100%.
There you go again blaming the VICTIMS of State aggression. You are a STATIST, not a Christian. Christians do not cheer on the destruction of innocent non violent people by Satan (Man's Laws). You choose to follow Satan (Man's Laws) instead of using your own free will and conscience to figure out the world. If this EXACT same scenario played out but it was just a normal guy who threw the flash grenade you would have a completely different perspective because YOU are the hypocrite.

Doesnt matter if the perp was there or not.....drugs were purchased from that location....so naturally the police will raid the location.
Even if the perp didnt live there and conducted a drug deal at the residence while visiting it is the people who live theres fault for allowing criminal activity fully knowing there are children.....stupid stupid stupid!
This is acken in simularity to muslim terrorists using children as shields.
I notice you say nothing about the drug deal itself (the source of the problem) at the residence....these drug dealers must be hero's in your eyes?

Acts Chapter 4:18-19
18 So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.
The "they" in verse 18 are the "rulers of the people" (see verse 8), or in today's nomenclature, the politicians. Peter and John stated that they would obey God, not the scribbles of politicians, as iOWNme puts it. Do you think God condones armed intruders breaking into someone's home and tossing grenades at them? I do not, and in this case I would rather listen to God who condemns such behavior rather then the "rulers of the people" who say it's ok.

Mean while back at the ranch the drug pushers are glorified in the name of God because police are trying to stop an infection of self mutilation and destruction.
Come on Mr. Franks....lets be a bit more on target with the scripture.
The scripture you are citing is out of context.
Lets see if you can pick up on the wisdom in this scripture?
Try this scripture to see if it fits more properly as the police were unaware of the child being at the residence.
Deu 19:4
4And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past; 5As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live: 6Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past. 7Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.

Hewing wood is honest productive work, and is not an act of aggression. Breaking into someone's house and tossing grenades at them is unquestionably an act of aggression. The difference is very important to understand. One is an accident, which is why God commands us to show them mercy, as they are "not worthy of death". The other is murder, the penalty of which is death.
The difference is explained clearly in Exodus 21:
12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
13 And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
14 But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
The man "lying not in wait" that accidentally kills a man is to be shown mercy, a God-appointed place for him to flee, away from any potential avengers of blood. The man who comes "presumptuously upon his neighbour" a.k.a. breaking into his house and assaulting him such that he dies, shall be killed.

And here is where you take the scripture way way way out of context to fill your emotional void.
12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
13 And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.

No midnight....its a simple question that separates the just from the unjust.
It makes all the difference....an unbiased difference...something you demonstrate you cannot achieve.....true honesty!
Last I read the police raided the place because of an informant (snitch) stated he bought drugs at that location earlier in the day......it doesn't read the police knocked on a random door, for no apparent reason to take a life, any life, that you are so trying to ram down our throats as the truth.
But you being a communist sympathizer will distort and convolute the truth to fulfill an agenda...as all communists do...even the bastard zionists.
And from your demonstration you prefer to be "unjust".
You slither away from the truth quite cunningly.

Toddler In Medically Induced Coma After Police Toss Flashbang Into Crib
VIDEO: Toddler critically burned during SWAT raid
ATLANTA (WSB-TV (http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/toddler-critically-burned-during-swat-raid/nf9SJ/?GxbuEu)) — The mother of the toddler told Channel 2 Action News Friday morning that the boy remains in a medically-induced coma.
“He is in a medically induced coma and he is paralyzed. I hope he’s not going to remember this. I know his sisters, his mommy and his daddy will never forget this," the boy's mother, Alecia Phonesavanh, said. "Our kids have been through enough this year. This is just more trauma that they didn’t need, and I just wish there was something better I could do to make it better for him. Wrong place, wrong time. There’s nothing I can do about it."
The family's home in Wisconsin recently burned down, prompting their trop to Atlanta to visit family.
http://i.imgur.com/fTtfnSg.jpg (http://www.conservativeoutfitters.com/)
“There’s nothing we can do to change the situation, my husband and I would gladly both give up our lives just to see him not like this. He’s such a happy little boy, and to see him like this laying there, not moving, it’s heartbreaking. We just want to hold him and we can’t," Phonesavanh said.
A family says a SWAT team raided their home in the middle of the night and seriously injured a 19-month-old boy with a stun grenade.
Alecia Phonesavanh told Channel 2’s Ryan Young her child is at the Grady Memorial Hospital burn unit, and is in a medically induced coma.
Phonesavanh said she was at her sister-in-law’s home in Habersham County early Wednesday when police raided the house.
"It's my baby. He's only a baby. He didn't deserve any of this," Phonesavanh said.
Phonesavanh told Young the grenade landed in the child’s crib; she showed him a photo of a charred portable crib.
"It landed in his playpen and exploded on his pillow right in his face," Phonesavanh said.
She also showed Young pictures of her child in the Grady burn unit. Channel 2 has decided not to share most of the photos because of the graphic nature of the child’s injuries.
"He's in the burn unit. We go up to see him and his whole face is ripped open. He has a big cut on his chest," Phonesavanh said. "He's only 19 months old. He didn't do anything."
Cornelia police Chief Rick Darby confirmed that the raid took place at the home just before 3 a.m. He said a multijurisdictional drug unit issued a warrant and organized the SWAT operation.
Deputies said they bought drugs from the house, and came back with a no-knock warrant to arrest a man known to have drugs and weapons.
“There was no clothes, no toys, nothing to indicate that there was children present in the home. If there had been then we'd have done something different,” Darby said.
"Everyone's sleeping. There's a loud bang and a bright light," Phonesavanh said. "The cops threw that grenade in the door without looking first, and it landed right in the playpen and exploded on his pillow right in his face."
They arrested Wanis Thometheva, 30, during the raid.
Darby told Channel 2's Wendy Corona that the entire unit is very broken up about the incident.
“You're trying to minimize anything that could go wrong and in this case the greatest thing went wrong,” Darby said. “Is it going to make us be more careful in the next one? Yes ma'am, it is. It's gonna make us double question.”
The Phonesavanh family told Young they have no insurance and have set up a fund to pay for medical expenses. (http://www.gofundme.com/9mih84)

I think it's unfair to assume the officers involved in this sad situation don't feel like shit. I would hope, and think, each one involved in this is at home questioning things, praying hopefully, seeking guidance, etc.
You don't do a no knock raid on folks who aren't the worst of the worst.
Think about who LE attracts to recruit. Young men, full of testosterone, who want to be the big hero. They want to make a difference, catch bad guys, the adrenaline rush, and going home at the end of the shift with that feeling of "I don't have a normal job".
So, they flash bang some home and raid it, because they are told, these people are evil inside that house and we need to save the day. Then, they find out they flash banged a baby...
This is just, hopefully some understanding from the "other side of the fence". These raids, are done, so they could hopefully catch the bad guys off guard, and where wouldn't be any violence.
To knock on the door in the middle of the day, and say "Hi, I'm mr. officer and I have a warrant for your arrest, we have your house surrounded" That would lead to a massive shootout where both the bad guys and the cops would die.
There are bad guys out there in this world. Don't think the cops don't come across them. You folks haven't seen them, I guarantee it. If you have, you'd be more objective, imo.

At this point a rational man would question whether or not the man inside was the evil one, or if he was the evil one for blowing a baby's face off. A rational man would realize that breaking into someone's personal home and attacking their baby makes them more of a bad guy than the man selling product to voluntary customers, even though you personally do not like what he is selling. I don't care if the higher ups say the cop who blew the baby's face apart is the good guy, I am not naive enough to believe that.

Why were the police summoned to raid a residence.
A. To randomly flash bomb a innocent child
B. to rid the streets of a known drug dealer
Answer the question honestly if you can spectrism?
I bet you cant without injecting some sort of propaganda lie to twist the truth around.
Its either A or B....so what is it?

mick, I've just been posting information, that's all. What police do. I've left my own personal opinion out of this thread. Do you want my opinion?
I agree with you. I'm against swat raids on people's homes, or personal invasions. I think it's a bad tactic. The only time I agree with it is in situation were innocent lives are immediately threatened and there's no time to wait out the arrest. I think swat raids should be a last resort. Catching a drug dealer is not a last resort.

Playing cowboys and drug dealers is good for only two things - rendering the police state a growth industry and job security for thugs with badges. IF the pushers of heavy-handed 'police' tactics were TRULY concerned* about the flow of narcotics then they would go to the top and cut the head off the snake starting with the Cocaine Importation Agency and the politicians who profit from the flow of narcotics (e.g. the Bushco Crime Syndicate).
*I submit this type is too fucking stupid to be concerned about anything other than their career/paycheck and their pension

No I didnt compare an 18 month old to a drug dealer....but you certainly did to win over the "emotions" of others that the cops are the bad guys!

No, of course not!

Thonetheva was arrested at another Cornelia residence, along with three other people, shortly after the raid, Terrell said. He is charged with distribution of methamphetamine. Habersham County Chief Assistant District Attorney J. Edward Staples said Thonetheva could also be charged in connection with the baby's injuries.

I played a little game Mr Trump. You see, I study people for a living and make my money understanding how they think. Two things happening here: projection and mirroring. I saw you projecting your "condition" on others and falsely accusing them of things that you owned.

Complete Bullshit!!!
Because the suspected drug dealer, Wanis Thonetheva, had a previous weapons charge, officers were issued a "no-knock warrant" for the residence, Terrell said.
http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/140530120910-wanis-thonetheva-story-body.jpeg
Wanis Thonetheva is being held without bond.
When the SWAT team hit the home's front door with a battering ram, it resisted as if something was up against it, the sheriff said, so one of the officers threw the flash-bang grenade inside the residence.
Once inside the house, the SWAT team realized it was a portable playpen blocking the door, and the flash-bang grenade had landed inside where the 19-month-old was sleeping, the sheriff said.
A medic on the scene rushed the baby outside to administer first aid, and a nearby ambulance was summoned. Authorities wanted to transport the baby via Life Flight to Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital, 75 miles southwest of Cornelia, but weather conditions wouldn't allow it. The baby was driven to the hospital
No officers have been suspended, and Staples said he expects the review of the incident -- being conducted by Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney Brian Rickman -- to take about a week.

1. Pharmacists are drug dealers too, yet their babies are not subject to being hit with grenades. Why? Because scribbles of politicians declare that certain drugs are good, and other drugs are bad. Note that the list of approved vs. unapproved drugs is arbitrary and changes all the time. Last year in Colorado a SWAT team could have tossed a grenade into a mans house for growing weed and they would have cheered it as justice. This year if that same man is growing weed and you throw a grenade at him, you would go to jail for attempted murder. What changed between then and now? Did morality change? Did right and wrong change? No, the scribbles of politicians changed. Which is why most here see through the bullshit and don't believe this "drug dealer" was worthy of a full on assault on his family.
2. Weapons charges? Again, the scribbles of politicians change year to year. Take Colorado again; last year if you had a 30 rd magazine, you are a morally upstanding citizen. This year if you have a 30 rd magazine you are a criminal trafficking in illegal weapons. Does the man who is ignorant of this new change in policy deserve a grenade to his baby's face for weapons charges?
3. Can't blame the cops for this? They're the ones who threw the grenade at a baby, doesn't matter if they didn't know the baby was there or not. If you, personally, tossed a grenade into a residential home and it struck a baby, do you think it would be a viable defense for you to say it's not your fault because you didn't know the baby was there?

I personally do not like meth and would never advocate that anyone use it or buy it. But that does not mean I want to break into the sellers home, attack his family, kidnap him and put him in a cage. If you suffer a home invasion and surrender, and it's not cops, you're dead. In the heat of the moment, there's no way to know what you're dealing with, and if you guess wrong, you're dead.
