Anyone been to one?

I checked out one of the few that are in my area today. I think a guy could start a business cherry picking and reselling the stuff they get in. Things come in every day donated from homes businesses and salvage. Everything under the sun old to semi-new.
The best part is you can buy this stuff for bargain basement prices, as good as any garage sale.

This place is definately worth a look. There's so much stuff to even list, lamps, cabinets, flooring, furniture, reclaimed lumber, on and on! You could build out an entire store for a fraction of the cost.

See if you have one in your area: http://www.habitat.org/env/restores.aspx

I bought a great art type wood framed mirror and a high quality dark oak swivel desk chair (like new condition) today, $20 for both ($5 for the mirror and $15 for the chair). You would probably spend $250 to buy these new.

Just though I'd pass this along for you value shoppers.

Yes, I have been to our local re-store.

If I were a person who had construction skills, I would buy a plot of land out in the sticks and buy materials there to totally build a little house as a getaway when the SHTF.

I stopped in another ReStore today while out bumming around. It was nowhere near as big as the one I was at a couple days ago. So if anyone is considering looking into these, you should find the biggest one.

No offense to the OP, but I checked one out and they were sky high on price. Maybe I'm just a bigger cheap ass than most, but you can do a lot better on craigslist, good will, and garage sales. Might have just been the store I went to.

Plus i don't like supporting liberal ass entities like Habitat for humanity. I know, I'm an insensitive racist bigot.
