It sounded like Samsung was to blame for that accident.

Personally I think anyone who text's someone who is driving and causes them to loose control and have an accident SHOULD be held to blame. If they didn't text them, they wouldn't have distracted them in the first place.

the other thing I wondered was where was that made? Looks like someplace like Singapore. Chances are none of those people drive.

SO I should only send texts to people that I'm sure aren't driving at that time...otherwise i'll be held liable for their driving activity?

Yes. That's what I got from the video. If that guy didn't send the text none of the people would have crashed. I think it's an offense to distract a driver anyway isn't it?

It's not like he was hitting her with a pea shooter.

It is dumb ass simple, to be safe from the idiot karmakasies on the road, you need to see them. That means head front and eyes scanning the traffic ahead of you watching out for the idiots.

Not sneaking looks down thumbing a keypad, nor doing like shown in some movies turning your head looking at who you are talking too.

It pays to watch the road ahead of you and glancing in the rear view mirror also, but not looking at the people in the back seat!

Keep the eyes moving and watching with situational awareness as close to 360° around you.

Anything less is inviting the reaper to come visit you and yours with no one to blame except your self!

Imo!

Actually there should be something in the car that would disable any signal from a phone or pad......with the only allowed outgoing signal for 911............unless you are a doctor or something like that.

Maybe I'm just a contrarian but I think you can't legislate common sense, good driving habits or skill sets. Accidents will happen and when they do, there's court systems and insurance companies to deal with settling the claims.
All that's achieved from more laws is increased revenue to the state. Well, you didn't have an accident but you could have because you were; texting, eating, drinking, speeding...etc. I know one thing, I don't want to live in a child proofed world, I prefer dangerous freedom and all that goes along with that
