Either a .338 Lapua or a .50BMG.

Like the .50 cause it can take out an engine, go right through the block.

Dunno if the .338L is up to that task however there is a major price difference between firearms and the price of the ammo they shoot.

The .338 is affordable right now the .50 not so much.

Anyone care to weigh in an opinion?

Seems the Lapua is about $3 a round, where BMG is around $5 a round. The bullet, in grains, from the BMG is over twice the size of the Lapua.

Wow, what does zionist snooze have to say about this?

Would anyone be shooting from such a distance?

Sometimes that's how Mother Nature does things.

I just think of trying to go anywhere after sniping with a .50BMG.

And if you miss, everything in a 1000 yard radius will disperse after firing it.

Like a Panzerschreck from WWII, a big cloud of smoke that says "Hello it was me!" :)

Is there a silencer option?

If the bad guys in the boat had an rpg, they could do damage.

What has more range, a BMG or an RPG? A BMG might keep them out of range, maybe?

"I want to have something" and "I want to be able to hit something with it" are two entirely different statements.

You can see how much difficulty the trained shooters are having hitting a BOAT with their .50 cal rifles. There were four or five of them prone on the deck, shooting away. The guy with the Ma Deuce was also missing terribly. So how much training are you actually going to undertake with this new toy? How often are you going to be able to afford to shoot it? How useful will it really prove to be? How easy to deploy? Are you going to hump it around on your farm? Are you going to shoot it and then dash to your next position? They weigh 30 pounds. Frankly, as far as I am concerned they are white elephants. I feel the same way about the 338 Lapua. Lots of people have them, very few can afford to shoot them with enough frequency and under the right conditions (distance) to make them a useful choice in any scenario I can think of. Then there is the ever-present problem of moving and deploying.

Lots of cool factor, nothing else.

A "serious" rifle is one you can hit something with.

Just get a .308 and spend money on some good glass and lots of training.

there not a ton of places you can train on a 50 cal , most ranges are to small for long shots and without the right glass most will never be able to hit a barn at long range . I have seen a lot of guys that could not handled the gun

Yup i nixed that idea.

Got a great looking Colt LE 901 instead, it can still reach out there and touch something in a hurry.

Really fun gun to shoot too.
