Todays trip to the BIG town...... me................... V

Man, oh ma, oh man.......never seen wallys so full and the $ store so full....and....sic business are goneeeeeeeeeeeee 4 big ones and 2 small ones, the biggest one was the Chinese restaurant with a bar with about 50 tables.

Went to the big town to buy a metal detector that I found in the newspaper, got it for $200.00 less than new and the guy just got it last month, I could have got it for less but I could see that the guy needed the money...when I gave him the money he said "now I can get gas"....by the way, the gas in my Micky Mouse of a town is at $4.19 a gallon.

I can feel something big is going on and it will be coming in with no surprises..........I still say that it will happen in winter when people will not want to go out in the streets..........anyway.

Construction going on in this part of the country...big hotels, baseball park has a ferris wheel now and it was packed last night...we didn't go in.....too long of a line to wait.....never seen that before. We settled for a smaller league game in the old village where the bars were also packed with bands and night life.
New bridge over the Mississippi is coming soon to upgrade the I74 bridge.....they are clearing way of down town Bettendorf Iowa for it and demo'ing buildings on both sides of the river. Down town Dvwenport is being rejuvenated with investors to bring back the days of people enjoying the downtown...all sorts of old building getting renovated for apartments and a grocery store is coming down there......people are actually starting to go there for drinks and dinner now...lots of small beer pubs that brew their own beer opening up. Got a new land base casino coming also...huge casino...second land base in the quad city area. Deere is upgrading their factories all over.
New police station and court building for davenport.....south park mall in Moline is getting renovated and reduced in size....all kinds of stuff happening in eastern iowa....and this isnt Iowa City where a shit ton of building is going on with the university hospital....Iowa city has been on the up with its local economy.
Heck the old Dock restaurant is actually going to reopen after years of being empty....downtown is seeing a grow in small shops to attract the shoppers who refuse to go to malls....malls are actually not so attractive anymore as people are willing to shop at small shops.

That sounds good! Here is mostly bustling with tourism which is good. The sales tax base is 9.xx% which pays for all infrastructure, property tax is very minimal compared to MI which was unbelievable. Same value house, MI=$300 a month, here TN=$300 a year. No state income tax either but I try to avoid buying locally because of the 10% sales tax, I leave that for the tourists.
