Dead Sea 'salt cube' phenomenon wows worldwide Beachcombers record video of their surprising find Published: 15 hours ago
Drew Zahn is a WND news editor who cut his journalist teeth as a member of the award-winning staff of Leadership, Christianity Today's professional journal for church leaders. A former pastor, he is the editor of seven books, including Movie-Based Illustrations for Preaching & Teaching (http://www.amazon.com/Movie-Based-Illustrations-Preaching-Teaching-1/dp/0310248329?_encoding=UTF8&tag=wnd-20&ie=UTF8&linkCode=ur2&qid=1324175163&camp=1789&sr=8-1&creative=9325), which sparked his ongoing love affair with film and his weekly WND column, "Popcorn and a (world)view."

At the end of the Jordan River, the Dead Sea on the border of Israel – known biblically as the Sea of Arabah – is a popular tourist destination, in part, because the sea’s dense salt content provides surprising buoyancy for swimmers.
Just as surprising is the video released by some unidentified beachcombers who found the sea’s famous salinity had formed natural, bite-sized cubes of salt – similar to ice cubes or sugar cubes – that had then washed up on shore.

Seeing salt crystals on the shore of the Dead Sea is commonplace, but less expected is to see nature form the straight lines and right angles necessary to make perfect, little cubes.

Here’s your opportunity for an unmatchable offer, “Mysteries of the Dead Sea Scrolls” at a special price from the WND Superstore. (http://superstore.wnd.com/video/Religion_2/Mysteries-of-the-Dead-Sea-Scrolls-DVD)

The video has popped up on Reddit and dozens of other social media sites and blogs across the world and has garnered over 500,000 views on YouTube.

The formations themselves are best explained when understanding that various salts, including common table salt, Sodium Chloride, naturally form cube-shaped crystals. The Dead Sea provides a perfect environment for these crystals to grow to unusual size.

The Dead Sea is one of the world’s saltiest bodies of water, with a salinity varying between 30 and 34 percent, nearly 10 times as salty as the ocean. Located at over 1,400 feet below sea level, the shores of the Dead Sea mark it the lowest-elevation sea on Earth, and with a depth of over 1,000 feet, the sea is the deepest hypersaline lake in the world.

Boat?

Wouldn't it get stuck in the sand?

A friend of mine took a swim in the dead sea earlier this years. The local people there thought he was a bit crazy, they don't swim in it.
It's virtually impossible to sink and I asked him how the water tasted and he said the water in the ocean where he used to live near Miami was
clean tasting compared to it.

One thing is for certain. His overall heath was greatly increased by spending a couple of weeks in Israel.
Everything from the food, water and air there being a factor in his opinion and far superior to what we have in the U.S.

That might work, but would the car get stuck in the sand too? Last time I drove on sand I got beached... took many hours to figure that one out.

walk a ways from the boat and rent a car? and I wouldn't drive on the beach in a car, especially at high tide.

No credit cards, they don't take USD either... So far I can get to the sandy beaches of Palestine. Sounds dangerous though, they throw rocks and all.

Probably be killed on the spot with ammo, either for sale or their own use. Why would I want to visit some stinky cuntry in a fucking desert is my first question? If I want to experience that I could go sunning on my deck but I prefer to stay somewhat hydrated. I might practice tomorrow, looking pretty white now. Wife is darker and she don't tan so I have to catch up again.

Salt aka Magnesium Chloride is a very helpful mineral for healing and health. Salt crystals from other dead seas or buried deep within the earth can be bought for baths very easily.

I spent 6 months there in 03-04. I was also at the Dead Sea -- and there were people swimming/floating in it.

I actually liked the place -- but this was before becoming aware/awoke.

Why don't you just buy a car that turns into a boat?

They've been scamming people with salt for thousands of years.

It has long been proven that "wall of china" is not a wall but a trade road. But it is also not a "silk road", as it has also been proven that you only need one caravan of silk to supply the whole european nobility with it forever. And it is not a spice road for exact same reason. There are ongoing debates as far as what did jews trades tribe move along that "silk road". Salt is one of the possibilities.

Salt aka Magnesium Chloride is a very helpful mineral for healing and health. Salt crystals from other dead seas or buried deep within the earth can be bought for baths very easily.

Magnesium chloride is extremely rapidly removed by kidneys, and therefore that sounds like a poison that body tries to eliminate quickly. There are claims of detox but since the previous fact they sound bogus.

Production of salt is an exact science, but is trivial and very profitable if you have the right place for it. In best case scenario water is evaporated from an open air aquifier until salt crystals appear, and then you can collect it by giant bags and sell it for $$$. Unfortunately for scammers, not every sea water or salty water like a Dead sea is capable of producing a clean sodium chloride. There are no benefits in using one sodium chloride vs. the other, so what they do is they don't bother keeping the process correct to produce actual sodium chloride and just do as the ancient trade tribe did - evaporate, collect in bags and sell to goyim under various marketing gimmicks. In this case, they just claim that their dirty, unclean sodium chloride with various other chemicals in it "has minerals and healing effect" and other such nonsense BS.

I believe it. I didn't want to swim in it, but it didn't look dirty or anything.

While there, I did leave thinking I liked the Syrians for that the Israelis. I saw more nativity scenes there than I saw in the US/Canada, and the people were very nice. The Israelis, when they found out we were not Jewish, treated us like crap. Now I know why.
