as long as humans will treat animals like this for the sake of profits, forget about world peace...

.... at Nation's Second-Largest Producer

In early 2014, a Compassion Over Killing investigator wore a hidden camera while working behind the closed doors of a North Carolina chicken factory that supplies Pilgrim's Corp. (formerly known as Pilgrim's Pride) — the second-largest chicken producer in the world. Typically kept hidden from public view, our video footage uncovers horrors including birds dumped in an open pit while still alive.

You can buy your chicken from a local farmer such as myself that actually raises animals with respect. We raise the same breed as they do, the Cornish cross, but ours live on the pasture, have no leg problems, no heart attacks, and they forage and play just like any heritage breed, they just have to be kept on a strict diet.
I get a lot of people that scoff at our prices for hand-raised chicken, is it worth cheap meat if those animals are filthy and tortured? Not to mention the environmental costs of CAFOs.
We already have two vegetarian customers who can feel good about eating our chicken, because the birds had a good life and were killed in a respectful and humane manner.
If you are lucky enough to have a pastured poultry farm near you then please support them, you can break the cycle of cruelty and enjoy excellent healthy meat too.

What's the problem?

Filming undercover like that on farms is illegal here in Idaho:

Hi guys! The turkeys are nice this year. Aiming for some thirty eight lb birds! Already butchered the 42 chickens, 21ducks and a steer.
