U.S. grounds entire F-35 fleet pending engine inspections (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/sns-rt-us-lockheed-fighter-20140609,0,7234377.story)
The U.S. military said it had grounded the entire fleet of 97 Lockheed Martin Corp F-35 fighter jets until completion of additional inspections of the warplane's single engine built by Pratt & Whitney, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
The incident is the latest to hit the Pentagon's costliest weapons program, the $398.6 billion F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. It followed an in-flight oil leak that triggered mandatory fleetwide inspections of the jets last month.

The Norwegian government bought those pieces of crap as well and they ended up costing a whole lot more than what was initially agreed upon. Would have been a lot wiser choice to select Eurofighter or JAS gripen.
The media tried to make it look like the government weighed the cons and pros against each other when they "decided" which to purchase.

we are in the same boat. I can't recall how many we agreed to buy but by the time it's done we'll probably be able to afford only 1/2 of one. I get the feeling it's a scam.

the MIC is not about developing good equipment, but about developing excellent profits. So in that way, these fighters were "good" .
