we have very strict rules about plant and animal matter. You can't bring it in. His problem was pride maybe? He should of come clean when he was diverted. You can't take fruit across our state border. We also get a lot of pests in food shipments. Big spiders, giant snails, wasps, ants, snakes been found. They just busted some guys for trying to mail out lizards. I've had stuff pulled while thinking it was safe. Nothing contraband but something that needed fumigating. That would ruin the item so it was destroyed instead. I also had some stuff that was allowed in with a letter but I think that was more a permit from the government of the country it came from saying it was ok to have, as it was a native flora or fauna.
