It's amazing that it took a full day to release his name. the cbs article doesn't mention it.

Maj. Gen. Harold J. Greene, who was born in Boston, moved to Guilderland as a child and graduated from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, died from gunshot wounds in the noontime attack at the Marshal Fahim National Defense University at Camp Qargha. At least 17 others were wounded, including a German brigadier general and an Afghan officer, news reports said.
