JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- The worst outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus (http://www.cbsnews.com/ebola/) in history could actually be much worse than the official death toll reflects. Already, the World Health Organization says 887 people have died, but a top doctor working at the heart of the outbreak in West Africa says many cases are going unreported.
The senior doctor, who works for a leading medical organization in Liberia, explained to CBS News' Debora Patta that what has helped set this outbreak apart from previous ones is the virus' spread in urban areas.
One of the epicenters of the disease is the Liberian capital of Monrovia, home to about a million people, or almost a quarter of the country's population.
The doctor, who spoke to CBS News on condition of confidentiality, said the disease is spinning out of control in Africa partly because it is extremely difficult to contain it in a sprawling, congested city center.

Meanwhile, the second American missionary infected with the virus was on her way back to the U.S. (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/nancy-writebol-american-missionary-with-ebola-readying-return-home/) aboard a private jet Tuesday morning. Nancy Writebol was expected to reach the isolation unit at the Emory University Hospital later in the day. Her colleague, Dr. Kent Brantly, is already there. Both have been given an experimental serum to try and treat the disease, and hopes have been expressed over limited improvements in their condition.
Also, officials at a hospital in New York city said a man admitted to the facility Monday morning showing symptoms commonly associated with Ebola likely does not have the disease (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/mount-sinai-hospital-in-new-york-city-isolates-patient-with-possible-ebola-symptoms/). He had traveled recently to West Africa, but a senior doctor at Mt. Sinai hospital told reporters the "odds are" his ailment is not linked to the deadly virus.

Ebola outbreak Officials try to contain the largest-ever Ebola outbreak that has spread across West Africa since March and infected thousands
(http://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/ebola-outbreak-in-west-africa)
The official Ebola death toll jumped from 729 to 887 (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ebola-death-toll-jumps-to-887-in-west-africa/) on Monday as Liberia confirmed dozens of new cases, but the doctor told us he believes the real number is at least 50 percent higher.
He put this down to the fact that people are scared to report Ebola cases, and have instead been hiding sick relatives and burying the still-contagious bodies of the dead in secret.
Traditions in parts of West Africa involve touching bodies before burial -- potentially putting unknown numbers of family and community members at risk.
The Liberian government has ordered that the corpses of all Ebola victims be cremated.
Two treatment centers have been set up in Monrovia; JFK Hospital, which is right in the middle of the city, and the ELWA (Eternal Love Wins Africa) center, run by a Christian charity, in a suburb not far from the center.
As Western aid organizations have pulled many workers out of West Africa, control of the treatment centers has been handed back to a large degree to the Liberian government, which has already said trying to control the outbreak is beyond its capability.
The international non-profit group Doctors Without Borders has issued a statement saying it is over-stretched and under-staffed on the ground in the region, and its workers still don't have a full grasp on all the infected areas.
The implication in that statement is that the disease could be quietly spreading in parts of Liberia and neighboring nations where victims' families have not yet come forward.

We Asked an Expert if the Ebola Virus Will Kill YouBy Matt Taylor (http://www.vice.com/author/matt-taylor) Jul 30 2014

It's become a sort of annual ritual for Americans to go wild over the possibility that a new, lethal illness might spread from Africa or Southeast Asia to their own backyard. Ten years ago, SARS was coming for you, and more recently, the Avian (bird) flu had overzealous parents stocking up on post-apocalyptic goodies like powdered milk and canned foods.
The latest dire threat to humanity is actually an oldie: the Ebola Virus, which was first identified (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2395567/) after a mysterious fever swept through Zaire (since rechristened the Democratic Republic of the Congo) in 1976. Richard Preston introduced the specter of Ebola to much of the western world with a 1992 New Yorker piece (http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/1992/10/26/crisis-in-the-hot-zone) that he subsequently expanded into a best-selling non-fiction thriller, The Hot Zone. The book, inturn, inspired that goofy piece of 90s cinema, Outbreak—though I preferStevenSoderbergh's 2011 film Contagion, which offers a somewhat less sensational take on the same theme.
Ebola sufferers will often bleed from their nose, eyes, and ears, in addition to a host of less bizarre symptoms like vomiting. The current outbreak is the largest in history, with about 700 people already dead in West African countries like Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. Adding to the drama this week was the death (http://time.com/3057153/sierra-leones-top-ebola-doctor-dead-after-contracting-virus/) of Sierra Leone's top Ebola doctor, along with news that an American traveling to Nigeria got sick and died there. The United Kingdom and Hong Kong are now quarantining (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/07/30/ebola-fears-global-outbreak/13350607/) passengers from the region, and with reports (http://abcnews.go.com/Health/aid-group-evacuates-workers-west-africa-amid-ebola/story?id=24773246) emerging of aid workers evacuating the West African coast, this is starting to look more and more like a global problem.
To find out just how likely Ebola is to reach our neck of the woods, I called up Dr. Diane Griffin (http://www.jhsph.edu/faculty/directory/profile/929/Griffin/Diane), chair of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health. She did her best to talk me down from the ledge.
VICE: What does the Ebola virus look like?
Dr. Diane Griffin: People get very rapidly ill with vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding—it's a hemorrhagic fever. I'm not sure that if you lined up a whole bunch of people with different diseases that you could necessarily pick it out. Nobody has been able to figure out how the first person got infected.
What's the mortality rate?
The strain currently causing the outbreak in West Africa is Ebola Zaire, one of the original strains. They vary somewhat in how deadly they are, but this one has about a 70 percent mortality rate.
Is the number of deaths tied to the state of medicine and infrastructure in the country where the virus breaks out, or not really?
We don't know that because all these outbreaks are in Africa. One of the original outbreaks was in a missionary hospital that employed Belgian nuns, and the only way the whole Western world knew about it is that the nuns got evacuated to Belgium. But they still died at the same rate once they got there. It's a good example of the Western world not knowing or caring until their own get involved.
How does Ebola spread?
In contrast to a lot of other infections we worry about, it requires really close contact between the infected person and the uninfected person. The origin for the virus is in bats, and it gets into the human population kind of by accident. It spreads through hospitals—any place where patients are being taken care of. And more importantly, and more difficult to control, is in villages and families who are taking care of sick patients. It spreads within these families, and I gather—I'm not on the frontlines, though I have worked in Africa—I can envision a lot of the problems people encounter with suspicion. Medical workers and health care personnel are scared and don't come to work. That makes it harder to keep up all these barrier precautions—it's inhibiting to have to be in a gown and mask and gloves and change them all the time.
[B]What makes this outbreak different?
It's very widespread—usually they're quite localized—and they've had a hard time controlling it. The only way to contain the virus is through the isolation of patients and a barrier mechanism for preventing people who've had contact with infected individuals from being exposed to bodily fluids. It's not really unusual for American doctors working in these areas to get infected, though that tends to be what gets it into the press outside of Africa.
Which is sort of perverse.
Right. There's hundreds of cases and this has been going on for months, but all of a sudden in the last two days [people have noticed] because of two things: Americans have been infected, but also this person that flew to Nigeria (http://www.foxnews.com/health/2014/07/30/sierra-leone-top-ebola-doctor-dies-from-virus/), so all of a sudden everybody that has an airport is worried. It could move that way to any place just like any other infectious agent. I've heard rumors that they're starting to screen people leaving the area to make sure sick people don't get on airplanes. So that would be a reasonable precaution those countries can take to prevent it from spreading further. And then countries that have planes coming from that region can also screen passengers getting off to identify anybody with a fever or any other kind of illness and rapidly quarantine and then at least determine whether they're infected or not.
Do you think medical personnel would respond the same way to an Ebola outbreak here?
I think there would be much less of a problem in the United States or many other countries where medical personnel have a better understanding both of the precautions that need to be taken and how one gets infected. But the healthcare workers in many of these rural areas are not highly trained, and when they see co-workers and family members and neighbors dying, you can understand that would be a frightening situation.
What kind of precautions are reasonable for people outside of West Africa—and Americans in particular—to be taking? Should they modify their travel plans?
I don't think so, because the random tourist or businessperson or whoever is not going to come into contact with people who are sick—although there have been cases in the cities, which has been one of the problems. If you're going over there to help out in a hospital, then hopefully you know what you're getting into.
It sounds like you're reluctant to press the panic button. Is that your professional ethics talking, or what?
If I were panicked I'd let you know. I just don't think there's any reason for that. There are reasons to pay attention. One of the problems is that West Africa has not really experienced Ebola before, whereas Uganda and a few other countriues have had multiple outbreaks and they're a little more schooled in these control measures.

RIYADH (Reuters) - A Saudi Arabian man suspected of having contracted the Ebola virus during a recent business trip to Sierra Leone died early on Wednesday in Jeddah, the Health Ministry said.
Saudi authorities and international laboratories certified by the World Health Organization are testing samples from the man for Ebola and other diseases after he showed symptoms of viral hemorrhagic fever, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said it was working to trace the man's route of travel and identify people he was in contact with.
Ebola is one of the deadliest diseases known in humans with a fatality rate of up to 90 percent. The death rate in the current outbreak in West Africa, which has killed close to 900, is around 60 percent.
The kingdom has suspended pilgrimage visas from West African countries to counter the further possible spread of the disease

They are isolating some FEMA caps for suspected Ebola people.....in other words, if you don't have it when go go in then you are sure as hell to have it when you come out..... does it make any sence?

is it me or is there some new disease that seems to come out every year or 2 lately.
Also 800 or 1200 is a pretty low number out of 7 billion. Just in the US there are 30k deaths a year from car accidents. Just to put it in perspective.

ok so now I think the BS meter is red lining. Deliberate release into the US is now occurring is the message I am getting here.

Car accident deaths are singular isolated events. Injury and fatality limited to the immediate vicinity. Plagues like this can be exponential and they will ebb and flow in infection and death rates. Critical mass may seem like a long way away but by then it's really moving and the spread starts looking like a J curve. So just like it hits ciritical mass in an individual it can do the same in a population.

We/me are waiting for one, confirmed, in the wild case on US soil. I think it's game on USA. I will continue gathering gear. Funny that I've been scoping out breathing mask gear and disposable coveralls the last couple times I've been in the h/ware store.

Ebola false flag coming? Let’s ask Dr. Garth Nicolson!
http://noliesradio.org/images/Garth%20Nicolson2.png (http://noliesradio.org/archives/86464)

Is the Ebola scare preparation for a big false flag? This is a good time to talk biowarfare with Dr. Garth Nicolson (https://uviva.com/doc/Garth-Nicolson-Brief-Bio-2008.pdf) of the Institute for Molecular Medicine (http://immed.org/), one of the leading “white hat” experts!

Listener Anne Sullivan writes:

“Please put ALL of your attention on the false flag Ebola (http://birdflu666.wordpress.com/2014/07/25/george-soros-ebola-and-the-death-of-who-spokesperson-glenn-thomas-in-the-ukraine/) unfolding now because it is tied to martial law, the death of millions and the take over of the US.

“All they have to do is declare a level 6 pandemic emergency which they are laying out the false impression of now, and the UN and WHO, along with FEMA and DHS take control of the country and the Constitution is suspended. They have FEMA boxcars with Guillotines made in China at the front of them and Obamacare includes a section on death by execution that lists death by guillotine (as well as by torture but they don’t use that word). The pandemic laws on the books in each state are martial law, and it’s clear that Massachusetts law (and likely all of them) include the seizure of all transportation, all communication, all utilities, all industry, all farms, all food, clothing, property, etc. and Bush’s orders include forced human labor. The laws also include immunity for any deaths or seizure of property or false imprisonment. Here’s a small sample (http://salem-news.com/articles/april062011/wisconsin-laws-jk-dj.php?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Salem-news+%28Salem-News.com%29).”

Professor Garth L. Nicolson is the President, Chief Scientific Officer and Research Professor at the Institute for Molecular Medicine in Huntington Beach, California. Born in 1943 in Los Angeles, Dr. Nicolson received his B.S. in Chemistry from University of California at Los Angeles in 1965 and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California at San Diego in 1970. He is currently Professor of Integrative Medicine at Capitol University of Integrative Medicine and a Conjoint Professor at the University of Newcastle (Australia).

I used to have a neighbor (few months ago) that was a construction contractor tied to a company building a gold mine just out side of Monrovia (among other things and places). This guy was loaded wealthy, spent more time in Africa than in the US (I saw him about 2 times a year, about 2 weeks each time).

Afria is the next colonial breeding ground for the US, Russia and China. They are all over it, building infrastructure and cities left and right. Liberia was one of the main countries being built up and there are LOTS of American workers over there.

Just some info I thought I'd pass on.

The "false flag Ebola (http://birdflu666.wordpress.com/2014/07/25/george-soros-ebola-and-the-death-of-who-spokesperson-glenn-thomas-in-the-ukraine/)" link in my Barrett post above points to the blog of Jane Burgermeister, the top whistleblower in the 2009 contrived bird flu scam.

George Soros, his Ebola bioweapons lab and the death of WHO spokesperson Glenn Thomas in the Ukraine (http://birdflu666.wordpress.com/2014/07/25/george-soros-ebola-and-the-death-of-who-spokesperson-glenn-thomas-in-the-ukraine/)

Some dots for you to connect:

*George Soros’s foundation funds the Kenema bioweapons lab at the focus of the Ebola outbreak, and which is about to be closed, apparently amid an investigation.

* WHO media coordinator Glenn Thomas was highly likely involved in fielding media and other inquries about how WHO view and what it planned to do about the controversial Kenema lab.

Was Glenn Thomas aware of hard evidence showing that the lab was faking positive diagnoses for Ebola — Tulane University? — in order to justify forcing people to undergo treatment which would give them Ebola? Did he refuse to go along with the cover up?

*The mainstream media is silent about the Kenema bioweapons lab closure as well as about the order to Tulane University to stop Ebola testing. So, what other channels are there left for this information to enter the public domain or be spread through social media networks if WHO does not release the information or take action?

*George Soros has links to Sierra Leone President Ernest Koroma

*Soros also has links to the non-elected, far right, banker-controlled Ukrainian government, implicated in MH17 crash killing Glenn Thomas

*The Ukraine government shot down MH17, argues German blogge fefe.

Fefe’s argument: BUK missile launchers use radar and their signals can be tracked by NATO.

If NATO is suppressing the missile radar coordinates, then it is because the BUK missiles were launched by the Ukrainian government.

The Durch Prime Minister said another 200 bodies were being transported by train. But there were only 188 passengers on the MH17 according to Malayasian airlines. Where are all these bodies coming from?

Connecting these dots, does it seem likely to you that billionaire Soros had

a) a motive for killing WHO spokesperson Glenn Thomas to stop the news spreading through official channels that the Ebola outbreak was orchestrated in a Soros-funded lab;
b) a motive for silencing him very soon;

c) the means of silencing him by staging a fake air crash in the Ukraine?

d) the support of the Bilderberg, global elite?

Interesting is the complete silence of the mainstream media on the closure of the Kenema lab posted on the Sierra Leone Ministery of Health facebook site.

If the media really were a free press, interested in investigating scandals in the public interest and in reporting facts as the so called “fourth estate”, this story about the Kenema lab closure would be front page news around the globe just as the story of Baxter contaminating 72 kilos of seasonal flu in its biosecurity level 3 lab and sending it to four countries in 2009 should have been front page news.

It is the total media blackout and silence which red flags the key, global stories. The key story of 21st century is that we have entered an era of biological warfare. The main warfare is not conducted between nations but between the elite and the people of the globe using also vaccines, weaponized viruses and mass deception.

Ebola Virus; Hegelian Dialectic for the New World Order (http://www.redicecreations.com/article.php?id=31672)

Is the Ebola virus outbreak being used as a tool for the New World Order? It would seem so. If Ebola was created in a lab (manufactured problem), to create a reaction (viral outbreak in targeted areas), and now the US is sending thousands of military troops to swoop in as the saviors (solution), then the agenda is becoming clear.

Doesn’t it seem obvious where this is leading? If you examine all the examples in the past of how they have used crisis as an opportunity for their agendas then this situation is another clear example in the making.

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." - Rahm Emanuel

Problem – Reaction – Solution (http://www.propagandamatrix.com/diocletian.html)

Let’s examine some of where this has come from and what’s currently happening.

US to send 3,000 troops to Africa to fight... Ebola crisis

http://www.redicecreations.com/ul_img/31671ebola.si.jpg

Out of 5,000 people infected by Ebola in West Africa, 2,500 have died of the virus, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday. To combat the situation, the US announced it would send thousands of military personnel to the region.

In a short speech given at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), President Barack Obama announced what he called "the largest international response in the history of the CDC." The president said that although the possibility of an Ebola outbreak in the United States is "extremely low," the epidemic is "spiraling out of control" in West Africa and requires a strong response.

“If outbreak doesn’t stop now, we could be looking at hundreds of thousands of people being infected,” Obama said.

The president’s statement echoed that of WHO Assistant Director General Bruce Aylward, who earlier in the day said, "Quite frankly, ladies and gentlemen, this health crisis were facing is unparalleled in modern times." Announcing the number of deaths and people threatened by the virus, Aylward said, "we don’t know where the numbers are going on this."

Speaking at a news conference in Geneva, the WHO official said a previous forecast of up to 20,000 cases "does not seem like a lot today," adding that numbers can be kept in the "tens of thousands" if there is a much faster response to the outbreak.

The US, meanwhile, has announced it is aiming to get the situation under control in West Africa, and is sending troops to the area.

Obama: U.S. ready to take the lead in Ebola fight

After an in-person briefing from the staff at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, President Barack Obama on Tuesday announced a "major increase" in the U.S. response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

The United States will send troops, material to build field hospitals, additional health care workers, community care kits and badly needed medical supplies.

Countless taxis filled with families worried they’ve become infected with Ebola currently crisscross Monrovia in search of help.

"Today, there is not one single bed available for the treatment of an Ebola patient in the entire country of Liberia," said Margaret Chan, the World Health Organization’s director-general.

"As soon as a new Ebola treatment facility is opened, it immediately fills to overflowing with patients," the WHO said.

Hospitals and clinics in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone -- the countries hit hardest by the outbreak -- are overwhelmed by what the WHO is calling the deadliest Ebola outbreak in history.

The virus has killed at least 2,400 people, and thousands more are infected. And there are now cases in Nigeria and Senegal.

"The number of new cases is increasing exponentially," the WHO said, calling the situation a "dire emergency with ... unprecedented dimensions of human suffering."

"Men and women and children are just sitting, waiting to die right now," Obama said.

US Department of Defence (USAMRIID) & Tulane University Released This Bioengineered Airborne Ebola/Lassa Hybrid in Sierra Leone

The primary Ebola strain being spread right now (as their are 2) was bioengineered by the US Department of Defense (via USAMRIID) & Tulane University with the knowledge/help from pharma/biotech giants such as Monsanto, Alnylam, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Merck, Pfizer and a much smaller pharma company based out of Canada called Tekmira. A known Ebola strain from Central-Africa was used as the base, and was bioengeneered to become a new hybrid respiratory illness (a combination of Ebola Virus & Lassa Hemorrhagic Fever, weaponized via Tulane University & USAMRIID at Fort Detrick) making it become a genetic variant of the original strain. This bioengineered hybrid allowed for airborne human-to-human transmission, an extended incubation period (to increase spread/threat), and a slightly toned down virility (to have the ideal initial wanted mortality rate (~40%)).

Ebola (EBOV) – Human-to-human transmission occurs via direct contact with blood or bodily fluids from an infected person (including embalming of an infected dead person) or by contact with contaminated medical equipment, particularly needles and syringes.

Is Ebola Airborne? You Bet It Is!

Hello, Jeff - I was reading the article below and had to comment. So, I picked out the first part and it IS airborne...in the same manner as is TB. The pathogen iS in the fluids and gets expelled into the air when an infected person coughs, sneezes etc.

It will probably mutate and be able to live outside the body. This too, in the same manner as TB. Just as the police got infected with TB in their cruisers after those who were arrested and rode in the cruiser were taken to the police station. We see this spread in police stations, cars, school classrooms etc.

Now the $64,000 question. Why are the politicians and policy makers not talking about an airborne mutation? That is easy and it is not so much not wanting to yell ’Fire’ in a crowded movie as it is to keep the economy going and the money coming in. The politicians are hoping the virus doesn’t get "found out" aka go obviously airborne which anyone watching the situation in Africa knows it already is in the air. In short, greed, keep the secret a little longer and rake in money.

I also notice that 4th doctor (Nebraska) has been getting better (miraculously) and I think and am quite sure that he was given ZMapp. They are not saying as the people in Africa would be insulted by such double standards.

We have the 5th one, doctor from WHO in Emory, Atlanta, Ga. Bet the farm we will hear he or she is miraculously getting better. If you go by the percentages we should have had at least one maybe two deaths among the 5. So, it appears they are beating the odds or they are getting ZMapp. I don’t put any faith in vaccines. A vaccine won’t cure Ebola. What a vaccine may do is make it worse, i.e. spread it further.

If we cannot stop this outbreak in Africa it will infect the world. If it ever gets to China or IndoChina and India we are doomed. We know that Reston Ebola is now in the Philippines and had proven to infected pigs. The experiment in which macaques were infected and kept in cages across the room from pigs and then all of the pigs got infected is proof positive 1. it can go airborne and 2 transmit quite readily between species.

We still don’t know what animal is the true reservoir. It is not primates as they die when infected. It is an animal, probably one that lives near and on rivers as the Ebola outbreaks seem to start near a river. This last outbreak started near the Moa river in Guinea. The virus gets its name from the Ebola river where it first emerged in 1976. I was hoping to go to africa as a volunteer and help with the animal work and research. We must stop it in its tracks in Africa. Imagine if it gets into crowded slums in Brazil? India (India has very little sanitation aka indoor plumbing in many areas of the country. This is why we still have cases of Polio there, and in Pakistan, parts of Africa. Jeff, this is really bad and I don’t have a good feeling i.e. that this will end anytime soon.

Virologists may not be publicly talking about the possibility that the Ebola virus could someday mutate into an airborne strain, writes Michael T Osterholm in the New York Times, but it’s something they are "definitely considering in private."

The director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota says that the virus - which currently can only be transmitted through contact with bodily fluids - has proven to be "notoriously sloppy in replicating", which increases the chances that it could turn into something more contagious.

"Why are public officials afraid to discuss this?" he asks. "They don’t want to be accused of screaming ’fire!’ in a crowded theatre - as I’m sure some will accuse me of doing. But the risk is real, and until we consider it, the world will not be prepared to do what is necessary to end the epidemic." (http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-echochambers-29168905)

Virologist: ‘It’s Too Late, Ebola Will Kill 5 Million’

A top German virologist has caused shockwaves by asserting that it’s too late to halt the spread of Ebola in Sierra Leone and Liberia and that five million people will die, noting that efforts should now be focused on stopping the transmission of the virus to other countries.

Jonas Schmidt-Chanasit of the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg told Germany’s Deutsche Welle that hope is all but lost for the inhabitants of Sierra Leone and Liberia and that the virus will only “burn itself out” when it has infected the entire population and killed five million people.

“The right time to get this epidemic under control in these countries has been missed,” said Schmidt-Chanasit. “That time was May and June. “Now it is too late.”

The current Ebola outbreak in West Africa has killed over 2200 people, with Liberia and Sierra Leone accounting for over 1700 of those fatalities.

While calling for “massive help” from the international community to prevent Ebola appearing in other countries like Nigeria and Senegal, Schmidt-Chanasit warns that getting a grip on the epidemic in Liberia and Sierra Leone is a departure from reality.

German aid organization Welthungerhilfe blasted Schmidt-Chanasit for his comments, with Sierra Leone based coordinator Jochen Moninger labeling his statements, “dangerous and moreover, not correct.” However, Moninger acknowledged that Schmidt-Chanasit’s assessment may be accurate in the case of Liberia.

Mathematical Model Shows How Ebola Will Spread: "Worse Case Scenario... An Extinction Event"

NY Times: What We’re Afraid to Say About Ebola

The Ebola epidemic in West Africa has the potential to alter history as much as any plague has ever done.

There have been more than 4,300 cases and 2,300 deaths over the past six months. Last week, the World Health Organization warned that, by early October, there may be thousands of new cases per week in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Nigeria. What is not getting said publicly, despite briefings and discussions in the inner circles of the world’s public health agencies, is that we are in totally uncharted waters and that Mother Nature is the only force in charge of the crisis at this time.

There are two possible future chapters to this story that should keep us up at night.

The first possibility is that the Ebola virus spreads from West Africa to megacities in other regions of the developing world. This outbreak is very different from the 19 that have occurred in Africa over the past 40 years. It is much easier to control Ebola infections in isolated villages. But there has been a 300 percent increase in Africa’s population over the last four decades, much of it in large city slums. What happens when an infected person yet to become ill travels by plane to Lagos, Nairobi, Kinshasa or Mogadishu — or even Karachi, Jakarta, Mexico City or Dhaka?

The second possibility is one that virologists are loath to discuss openly but are definitely considering in private: that an Ebola virus could mutate to become transmissible through the air. You can now get Ebola only through direct contact with bodily fluids. But viruses like Ebola are notoriously sloppy in replicating, meaning the virus entering one person may be genetically different from the virus entering the next. The current Ebola virus’s hyper-evolution is unprecedented; there has been more human-to-human transmission in the past four months than most likely occurred in the last 500 to 1,000 years. Each new infection represents trillions of throws of the genetic dice.

If certain mutations occurred, it would mean that just breathing would put one at risk of contracting Ebola. Infections could spread quickly to every part of the globe, as the H1N1 influenza virus did in 2009, after its birth in Mexico.

Why are public officials afraid to discuss this? They don’t want to be accused of screaming “Fire!” in a crowded theater — as I’m sure some will accuse me of doing. But the risk is real, and until we consider it, the world will not be prepared to do what is necessary to end the epidemic.

In 2012, a team of Canadian researchers proved that Ebola Zaire, the same virus that is causing the West Africa outbreak, could be transmitted by the respiratory route from pigs to monkeys, both of whose lungs are very similar to those of humans. Richard Preston’s 1994 best seller “The Hot Zone” chronicled a 1989 outbreak of a different strain, Ebola Reston virus, among monkeys at a quarantine station near Washington. The virus was transmitted through breathing, and the outbreak ended only when all the monkeys were euthanized. We must consider that such transmissions could happen between humans, if the virus mutates.

Long before Ebola infects or kills any significant number of people, it will destroy the world’s economies.

First, we need someone to take over the position of “command and control.” The United Nations is the only international organization that can direct the immense amount of medical, public health and humanitarian aid that must come from many different countries and nongovernmental groups to smother this epidemic. Thus far it has played at best a collaborating role, and with everyone in charge, no one is in charge.

A Security Council resolution could give the United Nations total responsibility for controlling the outbreak, while respecting West African nations’ sovereignty as much as possible. The United Nations could, for instance, secure aircraft and landing rights. Many private airlines are refusing to fly into the affected countries, making it very difficult to deploy critical supplies and personnel. The Group of 7 countries’ military air and ground support must be brought in to ensure supply chains for medical and infection-control products, as well as food and water for quarantined areas.

The United Nations should provide whatever number of beds are needed; the World Health Organization has recommended 1,500, but we may need thousands more. It should also coordinate the recruitment and training around the world of medical and nursing staff, in particular by bringing in local residents who have survived Ebola, and are no longer at risk of infection. Many countries are pledging medical resources, but donations will not result in an effective treatment system if no single group is responsible for coordinating them.

Finally, we have to remember that Ebola isn’t West Africa’s only problem. Tens of thousands die there each year from diseases like AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea have among the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. Because people are now too afraid of contracting Ebola to go to the hospital, very few are getting basic medical care. In addition, many health care workers have been infected with Ebola, and more than 120 have died. Liberia has only 250 doctors left, for a population of four million.

This is about humanitarianism and self-interest. If we wait for vaccines and new drugs to arrive to end the Ebola epidemic, instead of taking major action now, we risk the disease’s reaching from West Africa to our own backyards.

September 13, 2014

Today (http://madworldnews.com/state-department-ebola-hazmat/) it is reported that the US State Department (http://www.examiner.com/topic/us-state-department) just ordered 160,000 Ebola (http://www.examiner.com/topic/ebola) Hazmat Suits. Lakeland Industries, the company that makes them says these Hazmat Suits are equipped to handle airborne Ebola. Needless to say, this news is creating concerns. This move is reminiscent of when the government (http://www.examiner.com/government) bought 2 billion rounds of ammunition. The news of the possibility of Ebola being airborne is upsetting many. It is also causing a fear factor feeding frenzy among the CDC, WHO, and mainstream media.

Forbes (http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottgottlieb/2014/09/03/can-ebola-go-airborne/) announced a few days ago that Ebola had mutated. The new strain is acting in the direct manner of what one would consider an airborne virus. CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/12/health/ebola-airborne/) is announcing the new behavior of the mutation makes it possible for a nightmare to happen. WHO is warning what will happen with Ebola if their plan is not followed. “The [estimate of 20,000] assumes full international backing for an intervention to control the deadly outbreak,” econometrics research assistant Francis Smart told WND.com. “Failure to support the WHO’s plan presumably would cause the disease to spread in a similar manner as it already has,” Smart said. WHO is also saying it might take six months to contain the disease that has been found in over 20,000 cases in Africa.

This is all very interesting because back in August Tom Frieden, head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention assured us that, "Ebola poses little risk to the U.S. general population." When asked if the virus can be transmitted through the air, the White House website stated that "No, Ebola is not a respiratory disease like the flu, so it is not transmitted through the air." However, new research from Canada showed that Ebola could be transmitted through the air.

Earlier this month, according to the CDC, two American aid workers treated at a Georgia hospital for three weeks after becoming infected with the deadly Ebola virus have recovered and now pose no health risk. Later the CDC stated, "there is no public health concern with the release of the patients and that they no longer have Ebola in their blood. Further, there are no restrictions to the patients' activities of daily living." This is amazing considering WHO chief Margaret Chan had previously stated the Ebola epidemic is out of control, there is no cure, no effective treatment, no vaccine, and Ebola kills up to 90 percent of its victims with astonishing swiftness.

On August 21 USA Today reported, “The USA will launch an early-stage trial in September of an experimental vaccine against Ebola..." It should be noted that once a public health emergency is declared by WHO, untested experimental vaccines can be given to populations. We are now into September. Remember, the CDC owns a patent on a particular strain of Ebola known as "EboBun." It's patent No. CA2741523A1 and it was awarded in 2010. In order to be patented, the virus has to be altered or modified from it's original chemical composition. So if the virus is mutating, guess who's mutating it?

Three days ago the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced that "it will commit $50 million to support the scale up of emergency efforts to contain the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and interrupt transmission of the virus." While this has the appearance of being enormously humanitarian, there is a problem. Bill and Melinda are huge financial backers of Monsanto, and Monsanto is reported to be one of the financial backers for the proposed Ebola vaccine, even though they vehemently deny it. The Gate's and Monsanto were also in bed with the polio vaccine (http://nsnbc.me/2013/05/08/bill-gates-polio-vaccine-program-caused-47500-cases-of-paralysis-death/) in India. That partnership had a lethal impact on India.

Another player in the Ebola scenario is George Soros. George Soros’s foundation has funded personnel working in the Kenema bioweapons lab at the focus of the Ebola outbreak, and which is about to be closed, apparently amid an investigation. George Soros also has links to Sierra Leone President Ernest Koroma. As usual, the mainstream media is silent about the Kenema bioweapons lab closure.

We must not forget that Tulane University was ordered to stop Ebola testing and leave. Why? It is rumored that they were falsifying data. It is known that the Ebola strain from Central-Africa (http://zeitgeist77.wordpress.com/2014/08/03/us-department-of-defence-usamriid-tulane-university-released-this-bioengineered-airborne-ebolalassa-hybrid-in-sierra-leone/) was used as the base, and was bioengeneered to become a new hybrid respiratory illness (a combination of Ebola Virus & Lassa Hemorrhagic Fever, weaponized via Tulane University & USAMRIID at Fort Detrick) making it become a genetic variant of the original strain. Brings us back to obtaining a patent on a virus.

Last but not least is President Obama's amendment to an executive order. Although Ebola was listed on the original executive order signed by Bush, Obama’s amendment ensures that Americans who merely show signs of respiratory illness, with the exception of influenza, can be forcibly detained by medical authorities. The amendment states, “Severe acute respiratory syndromes, which are diseases that are associated with fever and signs and symptoms of pneumonia or other respiratory illness, are capable of being transmitted from person to person, and that either are causing, or have the potential to cause, a pandemic, or, upon infection, are highly likely to cause mortality or serious morbidity if not properly controlled.”

With what we already know, and what they are currently telling us, we must ask how are they planning to use Ebola on Americans? No matter how much we are told things are being done for our protection, everyone involved has a track record for lying. What aren't they telling us? There are way too many people and companies involved, who do not have the best interests of the American people, for this to be good.

Liberians know.... :) I gather JBurgermeister put these next 2 articles together,

LIBERIA’S LARGEST NEWSPAPER: EBOLA MANUFACTURED BY US AND WESTERN PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES (http://birdflu666.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/liberias-largest-newspaper-ebola-manufactured-by-us-and-western-pharmaceutical-companies/) September 12, 2014

*LIBERIAN SCIENTIST CALLS FOR LEGAL ACTION OVER THE ORCHESTRATED EBOLA OUTBREAK

*EXPOSURE COMES AS US AND UN SCALE UP THEIR EBOLA EFFORTS IN LIBERIA

The largest newspaper in Monrovia, Liberia, has published a report arguing that the United States Department of Defense and Western pharmaceutical companies are responsible for bioengineering the Ebola virus (the US government owns the patent on the Ebola virus) and for injecting Africans with it through vaccinations.

Titled “Ebola, AIDS Manufactured By Western Pharmaceuticals, US DoD? the article by Dr. Cyril Broderick, a former professor of Plant Pathology at the University of Liberia’s College of Agriculture and Forestry, appeared on the front page of the newspaper, ensuring a wide readership as the US government and UN prepare to scale up their Ebola activities in Liberia.

The article could play a key role in shaping the future of Ebola-hit Liberia by exposing the role of the US Department of Defense, pharmaceutical companies and other entities in the current Ebola outbreak.

Broderick makes a strong case for legal action to obtain redress and damages.

Although dismissed by controlled US media such as Breitbart as an wildly accusatory conspiracy theory, the report by Broderick contains convincing evidence suppressed by the mainstream media that the Ebola virus is a bioweapon, which has been put in circulation.

Broderick’s claims are all the more credible given a raft of recent scandals, which have battered the reputation of the US government and pharmaceutical companies, including new revelations of a cover up by the CDC the link between vaccines and autism and the infamous Tuskegee syphilis experiment .

Also, GlaxoSmithKline, the pharmaceutical company rushing a new untested Ebola vaccine into production in cooperation with the US Department of Defence, has been embroiled in scandals, and was accused by a Council of Europe inquiry in 2009 of exaggerating the swine flu threat to sell vaccines.

Broderick’s article comes as the Isreali government agreed to give six million dollars in compensation to Israeli soldiers who suffered damage during a US funded anthrax trial in 2005 after a US federal judge ruled in 2004 that the US Defense Department had to stop inoculating troops with anthrax vaccine, saying that the Food and Drug Administration acted improperly when it approved the experimental injections for general use.

In his report, Broderick cites evidence presented by Dr Leonard Horowitz, an expert on Ebola and AIDS, as well as a report by Jon Rappoport presenting evidence of the presence of US bioweapons researchers in the Ebola zone.

http://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2014/08/01/what-are-us-biowar-researchers-doing-in-the-ebola-zone/
The controlled mainstream media Breitbart, which has suppressed the facts about Ebola just as it suppressed the facts about 9/11, dismissed Broderick’s evidence as outrageous and rumors without addressing that evidence properly.

Breitbart mocks Broderick for mistakenly attributing a sentence to Theguardian.com, forgetting that Broderick is a scientist and not a journalist used to citing journalist sources such as my blog.

As a science journalist who has written for The British Medical Journal, The Scientist, Nature, and Reuters Health, I was forced to turn to the alternative media in 2009 to publish verifiable facts and documents about the fake swine flu pandemic and vaccine, so I know all about the smear tactics and lies of the mainstream media. I was subjected to them myself.

Given the stranglehold that the Globalists have on the mainstream media, most of the alternative media, the social media such as facebook and twitter, I advise the Liberians to spread this information using posters, pamphlets and word of mouth in Africa and in the USA and Europe.

Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth have been forced to take out an ad on Times Square to communicate directly with the American public because the controlled media has ignored their evidence or dismissed it as a conspiracy theory even though their documents, facts and arguments are so convincing that they would stand up in any independent court of law.

Likewise, the evidence that the Ebola outbreak is orchestrated is so overwhelming that any independent court would accept it. Liberians don’t need to bother with the views of the controlled mainstream media. They can spread the word through other means. They should collect as much forensic evidence as they can and put together a legal case. At the very least, legal action over Ebola will generate publicity, win over the court of public opinion and so ensure that there are no more Ebola or AIDS-like outbreaks again in the future.

By taking vigorous action to expose the truly evil Ebola plot, Liberia could help save not just Africa but also the USA, Europe, in fact, the entire globe, from an orchestrated Ebola epidemic.

A precedent for Liberia? The lawsuit of Haiti cholera victims against U.N . (http://birdflu666.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/a-precedent-for-liberia-the-lawsuit-of-haiti-cholera-victims-against-u-n/) September 12, 2014

A Liberian scientist has said that Liberia should consider taking legal action over the manufactured Ebola crisis, making the lawsuit filed in the USA against the UN by victims of a cholera epidemic in Haiti of interest.

http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/03/11/3988768/some-haiti-cholera-victims-file.html

West African countries have more legal options than the Haiti victims because of the involvement in the Ebola crisis not just of the UN but also of the US Department of Defense and other entities such as media companies, MSF, universities and foundations including the Wellcome Trust, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Soros Foundation. The two latter ones funded a significant proportion of the key scientific personnel working in the controversial Kenema lab, among other things.

The UK, French and Canadian governments are also involved as Dr Cyril Broderick points out in his piece in Liberia’s Daily Observer.

http://www.liberianobserver.com/security/ebola-aids-manufactured-western-pharmaceuticals-us-dod
(http://www.liberianobserver.com/security/ebola-aids-manufactured-western-pharmaceuticals-us-dod)

Charges could include conspiracy to conduct biological war crimes; biological war crimes (bioengineering an Ebola virus and putting it in circulation by vaccines administer to people without their knowledge and consent): conducting unlawful biological experiments: manslaughter of doctors and nurses by WHO’s and the CDC’s failure to adhere to scientific evidence and good practice guidelines in their recommendations on protective equipment as well as conspiring to starve, and even kill, 1.3 million people placed under quarantine under false pretenses without adequate provisions for food and water.

Liberian police should begin collecting forensic evidence in the form of vaccines, syringes, Ebola diagnostic kits, copies of Ebola verbal autopsies, reports from victims etc. An independent African multinational police force could complement efforts by African Union military and medical personnel by helping to collect evidence which can help strengthen West African countries case in court.

In the case that police obtain scientific evidence that members of WHO, the CDC or NGOs are giving Ebola to people or conspiring to do so by false Ebola diagnostic tests, they should arrest them and place them in custody until they can be put on trial in local courts.

A class action on behalf of Liberias 4.2 million people should include the economic damage caused by the Ebola outbreak, including the loss of future investments.

If each Liberia claimed just 10,000 dollars in compensation that would be fourty two billion dollars which the US, UK and the various foundations could easily afforded. If ten thousand or so Liberians who have been especially affected and who have lost relatives or livelihoods through Ebola claim ten million each, that might amount to another 100 billion dollars.

However, the lawsuit would not just be about money. It would offer protection against the current and future Ebola outbreaks.
