Agree.
I remember Colin Powell sometime during the Gulf War stating something like "We are giving the Iraqi People "x" billions of dollars backed by the full faith and security of the American Taxpayer. So, I believe the dollar is backed by the "Full Faith and Security" of the American taxpayer. Security being all of our money, property and anything that we have that is tangible. For many years I believed I owned my personal possessions but I have come to realize, I don't... All I have can be taken away at anytime.
I also think Gold needs nothing other than itself for backing.

You can only have stupid media reporting like this in a country that deliberately does not teach its people anything about money, and discourages them from finding out anything about it.
