the walking dead ....FERGUSON, Mo. — After withholding his name for nearly a week, the Ferguson Police Department on Friday publicly identified the white patrol officer who shot and killed an unarmed black teen.
Chief Thomas Jackson said the officer involved was Darren Wilson, who has been with the department for six years. Chief Jackson said Officer Wilson has had no previous history of disciplinary action.
The officer has been on administrative leave since the shooting Saturday of 18-year-old Michael Brown, whose death has sparked several days of clashes with furious protesters.
The chief made the announcement after initially declining to the release the name, saying the officer had received numerous death threats, the Associated Press reported.
Chief Jackson declined to take reporters' questions at a news conference.
Instead, the chief told reporters that members of his department would be handing out copies of a police report from the robbery of a convenience store that occurred prior to Brown being shot by Wilson. During his prepared remarks, the chief said Wilson first approached Brown because he fit the description of the suspect sought in the store robbery.

Anonymous hacks Ferguson Police and releases officers name

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The online hacking group Anonymous has released the name of the man it believes to be the police officer who shot and killed unarmed teen Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., over the weekend.

Brown's death has sparked protests in the city since his death Saturday. The city police department had refused to disclose the name of the officer, citing fears of retribution by an angry public.

In a brazen act of protest, vigilantes claiming to be members of Anonymous gave the Ferguson police department an ultimatum: Release the name or we will.

The "Operation Ferguson" group went through with its promise Thursday morning.

CNN is not disclosing his name until it can confirm he is indeed the officer who shot and killed Brown.

In its typical fashion, Anonymous has been waging a digital battle on Twitter. It started with demands for the officer's name. Then the group hacked the police department's computers and obtained audio files of police dispatches.

Thursday morning, it posted the home address, Social Security number and phone number of St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar.

Then, at about 8 a.m. CT, the group released the name of the officer it believes was responsible for Brown's death.

But the escalation continues. The group is demanding a response from St. Louis County police. If none arrives, the group is threatening to release the officer's photo at 10 a.m. CT, his address at noon and more personal details later in the day.

In a YouTube video, the Anonymous group issued this warning: "If you attack the protestors, we will attack every server and computer you have. We will ... release the personal information on every single member of the Ferguson police department as well as any other jurisdiction that participates in the abuse."

During a news conference today in Ferguson police said teenager Michael Brown was involved in a robbery prior to his death.

The accusation was made as police released the name of the officer involved in the incident, Darren Wilson. Citizens at the news conference reacted angrily when police accused Brown in the robbery of a store.

An information packet released by police details the robbery of Swisher Sweet cigars by Brown and the assault of an individual at a convenience store.
The event allegedly occurred just before noon on August 9.


Whats sad is the average American will say "This guy shouldnt have robbed this place". Insinuating that it is perfectly ok to MURDER a young man because he was a theif. Unitl, of course, it is THEIR son who is dead, and then they will say "The Police didnt have to kill my son, they could have used tasers or other methods".

I'll simplify matters for you: big burly 6'4"/275# black "baby" (shyster Crump's description) with a bad attitude toward 'whitey' (any part of culture which isn't ebonic based) and an 'entitlement' mindset (read: SOCIOPATH) gets violent with one of the new breed of cops who just happens to be looking for a robbery suspect (felon) matching the description of the black 'baby', cop responds as anyone being attacked where grave bodily harm appears very likely (by a suspected felon) - he shoots his attacker. However based upon what we're hearing from (surely very biased) witnesses the cop shot the black 'baby' when the black 'baby' had his hands up in the surrender position. Bottomline is the black 'baby' with the nigger attitude shouldn't have fucked with someone who he knew was armed. Black 'baby' deserves a Darwin Award; cop may get time 'cause he allegedly shot someone who was in a surrender position* (however that remains to be seen).
