I found this rather disturbing. Our future, or more precisely, our children's future is starting to look very scary. It is getting to be more and more like a dystopian sci-fi novel all the time. Just a little bit of imagination and one can realize all the horrific ways these tiny robots could be utilized. They could become delivery systems for any kind of substance, be it beneficial or not. Let's not kid ourselves though, those who are behind the development of this technology have never had the best interests of humanity in mind.

This was produced by GreenPeace. Even though what is being portrayed is something very real they are pointing out how we've destroyed nature so much that we will need to replace bees with robots.

Anyways it makes me want to pollute the environment more now so we can get closer to the Singularity.

From the article ;

BI: When can we see RoboBees pollinating flowers?
KM: With continued government funding and research we could see this thing functional in 10 to 15 years.

This seems like more of a sales pitch to convince the public of all the benefits of having mini robots all around us. Before any of these things make it to the farmer, they'll first be used for military applications, then police applications, then maybe a scaled down, easily breakable version will be sold to the general public - something that can easily be disabled by gov't agencies at will without recourse
