I have lived in Turkey for seven years. I have not been threatened or suffered any consequences for not being Muslim. Probably most of the people I am in touch with are 'moderate' or secular Muslims, but a lot have been fundamentalist or pious, and I haven't ever felt threatened by those either, very few have been a pain in the ass due to attempting to convert me... Where do you get your information from?
