It appears to be something similar to what Israel used on a Syrian base outside Damascus about a year ago. It may be the same kind of bomb used to bring down the WTC towers. There is increasing suspicion that kind of bomb is a kind of tactical nuke that is recycled from old weapons whose fissionable material has degraded.

How small can a nuke be made? If this was a nuke, it seems likely that the Russians would be all over it.
