Gov. Jerry Brown to Mexican Illegals: 'You're All Welcome in California'

by Tony Lee 26 Aug 2014, 9:07 AM PDT 4431 post a comment
On Monday evening, California Governor Jerry Brown said all Mexicans, including illegal immigrants, are welcome in California.

According to the Los Angeles Times, while introducing Mexican President Enrique Peņa Nieto, who said America is "the other Mexico," Brown "spoke about the interwoven histories of Mexico and California." He "nodded to the immigrants in the room, saying it didn't matter if they had permission to be in the United States."

"You're all welcome in California," Brown reportedly said.

Brown has made California a sanctuary state by signing the Trust Act, giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. He has also expanded financial aid to illegal immigrants by signing the California DREAM Act. Peņa Nieto reportedly "thanked state officials for embracing foreigners, citing measures that extend state benefits to immigrants."

Even during the border crisis, Brown reportedly vowed "to find ways to shorten long waits at the Tijuana-San Diego international border crossing," saying, "If we can put a man on the moon, we can put a man from Mexico to California in 20 minutes."

In 2012, 28% of Californians were born outside the United States, according to The New York Times. Hispanic voters reportedly "made up 19.2% of California voters" in 2010. And according to Pew Research, Latinos make up nearly 40% of the state's population and have made California "only the second state, behind New Mexico, where whites are not the majority and Latinos are the plurality."

Even though the University of California has admitted a record number of Hispanics, the Latino Caucus has vowed to make affirmative action and bilingual education top legislative priorities.

Welcome to the Hotel California
...

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, " said the night man,
"We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave! "

awe, it's only going to add $.15 to a gallon, the first year...it's for the environment!

Look at the bright side, California is finally going to get the bullet train. It will be done in 2029.

Smartphone Kill Switch Now Required In California

(Eliene Augen Braun) California is the latest — and biggest — state to require that new smartphones have“kill switch” anti-theft technology. Governor Jerry Brown signed the kill switch bill into law on Monday, CBS San Francisco reports.

The law will require smartphone manufacturers to include technology to render the phone inoperable if it is stolen.

“Getting mugged or robbed just because you have your cell phone in your hand is soon to be a thing of the past,” the co-author of the bill, state assembly member Nancy Skinner, said in a press release. She called it “a victory for consumer safety.”

Minnesota became the first state to pass a smartphone kill switch law in May of this year.

The California bill does not specify exactly how smartphone makers meet the requirements, only that they must keep up with the evolving technology and produce a way to render stolen phones inoperable. The law applies to smartphones only, not tablets or other mobile devices.

Several major manufacturers have already begun implementing the technology. Last year Apple introduced its “activation lock” feature on iPhones running iOS 7, which prevents anyone from erasing, activating, or otherwise using your phone without knowing your Apple ID and password. Samsung smartphones have similar protections built in.

Nearly 50 percent of property crimes in major cities like San Francisco, New York and Washington, D.C. involve the theft of mobile devices. According to a report by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, thieves stole 3.1 million mobile devices in the U.S. last year.

But the kill switch can make a big difference. Schneiderman’s report cites police data showing that since Apple introduced its anti-theft technology in September 2013, the number of iPhones stolen in San Francisco, New York City and London dropped by up to a third.

Illegal Aliens Storm the Beach in San Diego, Second Attempt Thwarted
August 28, 2014 - 11:23 AM
By Craig Bannister

Illegal aliens successfully landed on a San Diego beach in a panga boat on Monday and ran to shore - but, when another group tried the same thing on Tuesday, U.S. Customs and Border (CBP) agents were waiting for them.

Around 7am Monday morning, a horde of illegal aliens stormed a San Diego beach after coming ashore in a panga boat. They sprinted across the beach and climbed over a wall, entering the city.

Seven of the illegal aliens were spotted by helicopter and later apprehended several blocks from the beach; the CBP is still looking for at least ten more who remain at-large.

Then, about 1am Tuesday morning, a second panga boat filled with 20 illegal aliens was intercepted about off the coast of San Diego County by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents.

CBP Air Interdiction Agents in an OAM Multi-role Enforcement Aircraft (MEA) King Air 350ER spotted the 30-foot panga around 30 miles from the coastal city of Del Mar. The MEA crew directed two OAM Interceptor boats to the panga's location.

The OAM boats caught up with and stopped the panga about 12 miles west of the city of Oceanside at around 2:30 a.m. The United States Coast Guard Cutter Tern was also in the area providing information and assistance.

The panga and passengers were taken to the Oceanside Harbor where they were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol for processing. There were 13 men and seven women on board. All were Mexican nationals except two men were from Guatemala and one man was from El Salvador. The passengers' ages ranged from 20 to 51. Two men from the panga will be prosecuted for human smuggling.

Panga boats are small fishing boats with outboard motors used in Central American waters.

All the phones will have kill switches, so just bring a regular digital camera to the riot. Some of them have GPS and wifi built in now, which could be shut down, but you could still take photos and videos. If wifi is available, you can have the pics sent to Dropbox or another cloud service for safekeeping, so even if the camera is confiscated and the pics deleted, Dropbox will have a copy.

But if the iPhones are shut off, how will we be able to let the others know where to bring more Molotov's?

(Bibi) Well done my friend, well done! (J Brown) You're very welcome master!

During Thursday night's California gubernatorial debate against Republican Neel Kashkari, California Governor Jerry Brown (D) revealed that nearly 30% of the state's schoolchildren are either illegal immigrants or do not speak English.

Brown, who recently said that illegal immigrants from Mexico were "all welcome in California," praised his administration's immigration policies. He said that California is "setting the pace" on immigration laws and mentioned bills he signed that gave driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, made California a sanctuary state (Trust Act), and granted in-state tuition to illegal immigrants (CA DREAM Act). Brown then said that these policies were necessary because "about 30%" of schoolchildren in California are "either undocumented or don't speak English."

A California Immigrant Policy Center report found that there are 2.6 million illegal immigrants in California (or 26% of all immigrants) while illegal immigrants make up nearly 10% of the state's workforce, including "38% of the agriculture industry and 14% of the construction industry."

According to The New York Times, 28% of Californians were born outside the United States in 2012 and, according to Pew Research, "Latinos make up nearly 40% of the state's population and have made California 'only the second state, behind New Mexico, where whites are not the majority and Latinos are the plurality.'
