I understand the printing of automobiles is a viable technology and the industry is going forward in developing this. I would say this has the potential to revolutionize the automobile industry and indeed the entire economy

I wish they would use this computer technology to make affordable comfortable custom-made shoes for each left and right foot of each person.

I know this is do-able.

3D printing wont be the economy. Meshing will. Anyone can buy and print meshes they download from the Internet. You need a professional mesh artist (like me) to make unique stuff.

Once a 3D mesh file is made it can be copied infinitely so there is/will be a ton of piracy. That's why only customizable mesh services are economical.

what is a mesh?

A 3D shape in a computer. It has vertices, edges, and faces.

I mainly design mesh clothing now (less adult stuff lately.) I have a friend who makes mesh furniture for a living.

Examples (not our work):

Thanks. If you know anybody who makes mesh shoes, please let us know.

I designed some women's boots but they didn't sell very well. I was told by everyone who owns they they are amazing, but I'm not known for boots/shoes so no one really knows about them existing.

I found a VERY SPECIFIC niche in clothing and that does stupid well. Like I changed my entire business model since of one niche I do.

I can definitely make shoes though.

This is the good that can come from the beauty of the human mind, as God intended.

Can you use a finite element mesher? Or is STL the best?
