There were 389 deaths of British nationals in Thailand in the
year to March 2013 - about one for every 2400 British visitors or
residents - although that figure includes natural causes.

seems like a big number but there are a lot of foreigners over there chasing the sex tourism thrill. Those two were probably going at it in a public place. Either offended the alleged perps or there was someone who was knocked back by the woman and he didn't like that. Got a case of the red haze and the rest is history.
