I went to check out this site to see what sort of stuff they offer and was blown away by how brazen the sellers are with fake goods. Especially in the precious metals market. They blatantly sell tungsten gold. Supposedly acid test proof.

This could be a very useful product. If one was under duress and forced to give up something to placate a violent intruder it would very useful to have some of this on hand, put away in a clever hiding spot. It just might save someone's family and real stash. Fake cash that would fool a burgler but never be intended to be spent might be a good idea too.

I don't believe in cheating anyone, just think it might be useful.

Shit!! They are brazen bastards. Everything from China is a scam. They even sell the APMEX packaging for others to scam a good company. In the good old days, such people would be tarred & feathered. Now Amerika is a haunt of devils, cowardly officials and politicians that love their payoffs.

In looking at the product page, I see that the intent of the product is not necessarily positive.
It is also very expensive for being fake. One would want something pretty cheap and never intended to fool an expert.

From the web page:
3 kinds of person is our main regular customer, because our product is more expensive

than some inferior gold coins.

First kind of customers are those who really like to collect .Our 60 microns gold plated tungsten

gold coin (bar) contains several grams gold, having the collection value.

Second kind of customers are those who want to send gift and present to friends owning

good taste. But the true gold coin (bar) is so expensive that we can’t pay for it. Do not worry .

Come to me. Our product is the same as the original. Expert cann’t distinguish them by

acid test, X-ray test or scratch test, not mention to your friends. You would pay half of the

original and give your friend a gift worth 1300USD.

Last but not lest, they are those who really want to make a big money. Because our

gold coin (bar) is easy to resale. There is no doubt that it is very hot and popular in marketing ,

now. You can use it to do many meaningful thing.

I have thought about this a lot. Violent criminals can easily get the drop on you if they are stalking you. One would be very lucky to evade a determined gang of thieves or get your weapon out before they draw on you. All they have to do is wait till you are out earning your living and then show up on the side of your home and surprise your wife as she is getting out of the car. Game over. Best to have something to give them.

That is why I keep a store of plated silverware. They are not likely to know the difference. I also have some foreign coins that are near worthless. A few bricks of pennies and nickels will also keep them busy. While they are loading up... I will take the opportunity to "disable" them and they won't bother another living soul.

The majority of merchandise on Alibaba is fake, counterfeit, or low quality.

The recent IPO shows that most people don't care, either.

They have it all SAEs, Maples, Kooks, Rands. Any fake you want complete with assay card and you cannot tell the difference. The next big jump in PMs these things will be circulating like mad.

I would wager that they already are. This OP article is really an eye opener to the sophistication of modern PM counterfeiting. It's actually quite frightening. I'm not sure how comfortable I would be buying these types of bullion bars and coins anymore...

You must trust the supply chain. From mint to distributor(s) to you. Any link that is untrustworthy is you gambling. The "premium" one pays at, for example, APMEX, is insurance of authenticity.

When a product says "Made in USA" and you're buying it from China, most people would question its authenticity. But this stuff is surely trickling into the USA nonetheless. Showing up at coin shows, and even supposedly reputable coin shops.
