Anyone heard of this before? Thoughts?

Basically it's like 45 ACP to .460 Rowland as to 38 Special to 357 Magnum. 45 ACP will work in a gun chambered in .460 Rowland, but not vice-versa.

Never heard of it.

Firing it without ear protection you'd probably never hear again anyways.

An interesting novelty. Sometimes too powerful is too powerful.

A pistol is the weapon you use when you can't get to your rifle. Which you should never have put down in the first place. Credit to Clint Smith. :)

Rowland costs a couple bux a round ... far more expensive than 45. The Rowland is capable of being fed in a 45 magazine but the chamber is different. You can also get a CCU that uses a 45 lower and carbine upper in the Rowland. The CCU is fairly cheap .. around $340 and requires no paperwork. Said to give a couple hundred fps more velocity. The same dies can be used to load a Rowland as a 45. The brass is .056" longer.

All said I would stick with the 45. With care you can hit what you aim at out to 100 yards.

In the video you never see the guy and the target at the same time.

Whoda thunk palani was anything but a 1911 owner?

Did you know there are other handguns that shoot the 45 ACP besides the 1911?

Yes, but don't shatter my illusions.

For home defense, yes, but when you're out and about, a strong pistol as your CCW is not a bad thing to have.

FWIW, my carry pistol is either my 9mm G17 (it's big so I don't carry it regularly) or the smaller and more compact .380 Ruger LCP.

Best home defense weapon is a short barrel and stock shoot gun ;) Mine has a 18 1/4" barrel and 25 and 1/2" overall, (removes the legal quibbling) that may cause more general damage over all, but less penetration through walls and people in other rooms are safer as depending on the shot size, slugs are a total different story.

And pin point accuracy in a panic? is not needed!

One shot generally does the job!

I understand a pistol or revolver is one's only choice in some situations. And carrying a short arm in such situations is wise & prudent! I was being hyperbolic.

Like you, I do not carry "hand cannons," like the Rowland cartridge pistol, for practical purposes.
