I have no clue, just heard it from my son. Wife says it has something to do with the Bible... have not yet looked.

Any help appreciated... soon!

It's just a lunar eclipse. My wife is getting prepared for it (she's a photographer). The world is not going to end. Yet.

The Earth will get in the way of the Sun and the shadow will give the Moon a red-orange ("blood") glow.

Peak is 6:55am Eastern, 3:55am Pacific.

yes but 6000, 4000 & 2000 years ago the world was going to end everytime there was an occultation. The high priests said so and we must sacrifice babies and virgins. I wonder how many sacrifices there will actually be this time around. I'd be expecting a few to go down unfortunately.

Literal anti-Christ John Hagee claims that the 2014 & 2015 lunar eclipses are "Divine Signs" for pretend Israel:

http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/insideisrael/2014/February/Divine-Sign-for-Israel-Hagee-Explains-Blood-Moons/

"When all is said and done, the flag of Israel will be flying over the walls of the city of Jerusalem when Messiah comes, and it's going to be forever," he said. "And every nation that rises up in judgment against Israel God will punish and punish severely.

See my immediately preceding post. The sacrifices are innocent folks in the Middle East, for the sake of Eretz Yisrael.

Why do they always sacrifice innocent babies and virgins? I'd think God would prefer old corrupt politicians and priests,...

I know I would prefer that evil people be sacrificed, but a sacrifice means giving up something good--it doesn't mean throwing out your garbage.

Because of the blur from the rest of the moon my cellphone which is normally great with video is sucking balls.

Blood moon right now. Pretty cool. What's odd is that dogs in the neighborhood are barking.

I saw it too, but it was eerily quiet outside where I am.

If it's an eclipse why would it be orange instead of black like a new moon?

Because the Sun's light still partially illuminates it. The Earth is positioned in just the right manner for direct Sunlight to be blocked.
