The Walking Dead - social media people proclaiming this is a good watch

I thought this thread was going to be about smartphone-heads. The people who walk down busy urban sidewalks with their heads planted squarely downward at their phones-- weaving like unguided missiles they are, esp to peeps like me coming the opposite direction. We're 30, 20, 10 feet apart, plainly time to look at one another and establish which side of the sidewalk we'll be passing each other on.... but no, too often I find when I've adapted to their latest weave by taking the other side, they blindly weave again putting us on a collision course again. :( I'm finally forced to stop, plant my feet, wait for them to notice my shoes when they're 6-12 inches away, and snap out of their walking dead social media person trance for long enough to go around me.

Proud to say I have not watched an episode of any TV show created in the last 6 years.

If you put a gun to my head and asked me to name one contemporary TV star involved in a popular TV show, I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it.

And, yes, I grew up on TV the same as anyone else.

That being said, the wife and I bumped into Charlie Papazian last Saturday night on the street in front of the Colorado Convention Center, and I almost couldn't talk I was so starstruck. He was nice enough to chat with us for a few and take a selfie of all of us on his phone and send it to me.

Kind of like meeting the Thomas Jefferson of craft brewing... :)

I absolutely love The Walking Dead. After Sundays episode Carol is officially my favorite character. She is SO fucking BADASS!!!

I've never seen such a weak, annoying, pathetic character turn out so awesome.

"Okay bitches, time to look at the fucking flowers."

I don't like TV or Movies either, but I make an exception for The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. They really are amazing quality. It's all I'll watch.

Kind of like saying "I hate usury, and the evil shitheads behind it that cause all the problems in the world, but I really love using the Chase Mastercard, because it has a 0.5% lower interest rate than the others, and is a really cool design!"

Totally agree. I lost interest in the middle of season 2, stopped watching and never really got back into it.

Now, the walking dead video games, are superior to the TV show, in every regard. It's the same theme, but a totally different cast of characters and story line. One of the latest game reviews says this is the story the TV show wishes it had.

yep. i made it to season 2 where they found the prison. then i lost interest, same deal. it was all about relationships at that point. if i want relationships, there's tons of shitty dramas on already. give me zombie attack stuff.

It's more about humans versus humans now. Limited supplies and stuff. Season 2 was the slowest since the Rick's group is on a farm. The show changed by the middle of Season 3 once the Governor was established as an enemy to Rick's group.

The group is captured at the end of Season 4 by cannibals are ready to be eaten...

The Walking Dead has some redeeming qualities, but, it's still tainted with the usual Hollywood interracism and faggotry promotion.

It's kind of funny, in the video games, it starts out with a black guy in the back of a cop car going to jail for murder, then the SHTF and he escapes, and finds an abandoned young girl who he takes with him and raises as his own.

Pretty much with Brewtech, watch the local weather, tune in to the news and see what lies their pushing about once or twice a week. Wife got into watching the zombie show a while back, but thankfully it dropped off.

Really think its pushing some kind of conditioning. Probably why its called TV programming.

Hate commercials, but like social engineering? LOL. Dude, it's all one mechanism serving the same goals, and those goals don't include any benefit to you.

Not saying your wrong but being awake is different than being a mindless zombie. Being awake means I can appreciate the entertainment value without being programmed by them.

If you accept social engineering (any TV show or movie) as harmless entertainment, then you might not be as awake as you think.

The creators of this material aren't stupid... they know you better than you think... they get paid millions to figure out how to manipulate you. If you think you are immune, what makes you any different from the "mindless zombie"?

I agree. Especially with The Walking Dead, the social-engineering is un-believable. I know what to looking for, so no chance for me to be brainwashed.
