The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court.

One of the little nuggets of wisdom I first gleened years ago from Pastor Lindsey Williams, between all his pencil/paper hot air, was how the 501C3-ization of US churches beginning in the 1960s was the coffin nail to the former paradigm. To be compliant with the tax exempt status, churches/sermons had to steer clear of political discussion. In the nearly 2 centuries prior, churches were the primary place where the public drew their moral/political opinions. This of course was not in the interest of the JWO.
Growing up in the 70s, going to church 2x/week (Friday catholic school mass & Sunday family), mass was just drudgery, mechanical, boring.
Are Bishop Richard Williamson's dissident SPXX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Williamson_%28bishop%29) churches 501C3's? Actually, he was expelled from the SSPX in 2012.

I hope they refuse and aren't shy about it.

EVERYONE, regardless of political bent, should hope for the same, but they won't. Another blatant violation of basic freedoms will be cheered by the collectivist masses as progress.

This isn't a violation of the 1st amendment or anything. This is 100% legal. 501c3 churches are wards of the State. They are State property.

Exactly, and you will see 100% compliance 'cause they don't want their business enterprises masquerading as churches to get shut down.

Some pastors have outlines, which barely look like "notes".
When I preach at a local mission, my "notes" would look like scribble to the average person, only I know how to "decrypt" them

Most will bow down. "After all," Romans 13 tells us to obey the government no matter how evil. (sarcasm!!)

True, but Acts 4:19 shows Peter and John defying their government, to obey God rather than man, which is fitting regarding the OP story because it was the government ordering Peter and John to stop preaching. We could only hope that Acts 4:19 would be the banner response when the modern American government orders churches to stop preaching.

Romans 13 tells us to obey government that does good to the righteous (Romans 13:3). When government does bad to the righteous, it does not hold authority.
Of course, Jesus was the greatest revolutionary of all time, defying the worldly command to worship government, under pain of death.
