The government is doing nothing to "fix" it - that's the problem. It is a primary function of government to defend the nation, and that includes sealing the border as necessary. The border should have been sealed against invasion a long time ago, totally apart from Ebola.

President Barack Obama has picked Ron Klain, an inside-the-Beltway veteran and well regarded manager, to oversee and fix the wobbly federal government response to West Africa’s deadly Ebola outbreak.
“The president has asked Ron Klain to take on the task of coordinating his administration’s whole of government Ebola response,” the White House said. His formal title will be “Ebola Response Coordinator.”
Klain, a former chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden, “will report directly” to Obama Homeland Security Adviser Lisa Monaco and National Security Adviser Susan Rice.
His job will be to ensure “that efforts to protect the American people by detecting, isolating and treating Ebola patients in this country are properly integrated but don’t distract from the aggressive commitment to stopping Ebola at the source in West Africa,” the White House said.
Klain, a veteran of political knife-fights like the 2000 presidential election recount in Florida, is generally well regarded in Congress by Democrats and Republicans for his managerial skills. As Biden’s chief of staff, Klain oversaw the implementation of the 2009 economic stimulus package.
Klain, a lawyer by training, currently runs Case Holdings, which oversees the business and charity interests of former AOL chairman Steve Case. He is also general counsel at Washington DC-based venture capital firm Revolution LLC.
The announcement came a day after Obama acknowledged that “it might make sense to have one person” overseeing the process “just to make sure that we’re crossing all the T’s and dotting all the I’s going forward.”
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) director Tom Frieden has increasingly drawn fire over his handling of the three Ebola cases diagnosed in the United States.
The first patient, Thomas Eric Duncan, died at a Dallas hospital. Two nurses who treated him are now sick with the disease. One of them, Amber Vinson, took a plane to Cleveland and back after being exposed. She is now being treated at Emory University. The other, Nina Pham, is being treated at the National Institutes of Health just outside Washington DC.
During a news conference to update the condition of nurse Nina Pham, NIH director Dr. Anthony Fauci was asked how he felt about the possibly of having to report to another person on Ebola.

“I don’t know exactly what is meant by a czar, but we will certainly follow the lead of the President and follow the lead of Secretary Burwell,” Fauci said. “I take care of patients and I do my job. Other people do their job.”
Republicans have escalated attacks on Frieden and Obama in recent days while harnessing public fears about the deadly disease and the administration’s response with the mid-term elections just a few weeks away.
Obama, speaking in the Oval Office after meeting with Frieden and other top aides leading the federal government response, insisted that he wasn’t unhappy with the work they have done.
“The truth is, is that up until this point, the individuals here have been running point and doing an outstanding job in dealing with what is a very complicated and fluid situation,” the president insisted.

According to a Municipal Court filing, Smith’s comment “caused panic” in the downtown casino, a portion of which was shut down as a result of Smith’s claim. The closure, investigators allege, caused the business to suffer “a large financial loss.”

Several hours after his Ebola comment, Smith was arrested at his Cleveland home and charged with inducing panic, a felony, and criminal trespass. He was booked into the Cuyahoga County jail, where he is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Guo Wengui is a fugitive from China who fled to the US in 2014 claiming political persecution.

He made his billions in property development in China, and in America runs media streaming platforms online.

Together with Steve Bannon, Mr Guo launched an aggressive anti-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) movement called the New Federal State of China in June this year, with branches in countries like the US, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

Founded by an exiled billionaire and critic of the Chinese government, G News claimed without proof that China was prepared to admit the disease originated in its labs.

A website that published two false coronavirus claims, which painted China in a negative light, previously had a contract with former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon and was created by an exiled Chinese billionaire and critic of the ruling Communist Party.

On Jan. 25, G News published a false story saying the Chinese government was preparing to admit that the coronavirus originated in one of its labs. It did not, but the article still racked up over 19,000 tweets and 18,000 Facebook engagements, according to social tracking website BuzzSumo. The story was debunked by Facebook fact-checking partner PolitiFact.

The website also published a questionable document that fed a conspiracy that the Chinese military spread the disease deliberately. That document, which seems to have come from G News originally, has been popular on anonymous message boards like 4chan and 2chan.

G News is part of Guo Media, a project funded by Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui, also known as Miles Kwok and Miles Guo. He fled China in 2014 and has been accused of bribery, money laundering, and fraud by the mainland government. He has denied the charges, calling them politically motivated, and has become a vocal critic of Beijing.

In August 2018, Guo’s organization signed what Axios reported to be a $1 million contract with Steve Bannon, former White House strategist and former chair of the hyperpartisan news site Breitbart. The contract required Bannon to make introductions to “media personalities” and advise on “industry standards,” according to Axios. Guo and Bannon frequently appear together in videos on G News that attack the Chinese government...

Another person connected to G News, hedge fund manager J. Kyle Bass, also spread a false coronavirus claim in a tweet...

His tweet garnered almost 13,000 retweets and caused Canadian officials to issue a clarification denying that coronavirus was stolen from the Winnipeg lab. "This is misinformation and there is no factual basis for claims being made on social media," Eric Morrissette, the chief of media relations for Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada, told CBC News.

When asked about his tweet, Bass said he had no plan to remove it.

“I am extremely concerned about the spread of misinformation about the coronavirus by the Chinese government,” he said.

Bass is the chair of the Rule of Law Foundation, a nonprofit that runs banner ads at the top and bottom of the G News website soliciting donations.
