You'll see a milky stream coming off one of the electrodes in the distilled water. Those are the silver particles that leave the wire and are suspended in the water. Before they are dispersed throughout the entire volume of the water, they make the water look cloudy. If you're making colloidal silver, and you don't see that milky stream coming off an electrode, the stop the process and clean off both electrodes. Then start it again. One electrode (the cathode, I think) gives off that milky stream. The other electrode--the anode--gives off gas bubbles (hydrogen or oxygen--not sure) and starts developing a scaly deposit which continues to grow. I think that might be silver oxide.

I hope that answers your question. Make some and play around with it. I'm getting ready to make a few gallons. I just bought two one ounce glass nasal spray bottles. I have been informed that taking this orally--that is swallowing it so it goes into your stomach causes a lot of the silver to react with your stomach acid, hence very little of the actual silver particles get into your bloodstream. If you dose yourself by spraying the CS into your nose, it gets to the bloodstream through the nasal membranes and bypasses the stomach. Also, some people say to take it 'sub-lingually'--under the tongue--sort of like how nitroglycerine is administered--which also bypasses the stomach. Colloidal silver is kept secret by the pharmaceutical industry for two very important
reasons. The first reason, of course, is that the effectiveness and availability of CS
would severely cut into the profits the drug companies make today on all the various
antibiotics, flue, and cold remedies.

The second reason is that CS can not be patented. The Food and Drug
Administration has classified CS as a pre-1938 drug, which makes it exempt from
current patent laws. If a product cannot be patented and a monopoly held on it in the
marketplace, it cannot demand a high price. Therefore, CS is worthless to the
pharmaceutical profiteers. In fact they are fearful that colloidal silver may return to
public use and have worked hard to keep it hidden.

Is it any wonder that colloidal silver which can stop viruses such as West Nile, AIDS,
Ebola, Bubonic plague, and SARS, is kept hidden from public use? Something so
inexpensive, so easy to make, and so accessible to the public as colloidal silver
would cause so much good health as to wipe out whole sections of the
pharmaceuticals in thousands of hospitals and drug stores. Such is the trillion dollar
drug lie.

Update. 8/2/14 For some reason there are some on the internet trying to dissuade people from taking Colloidal Silver. I can only imagine the reasons why.

There was some discussion recently in a thread about colloidal vs ionic silver. According to some, one variety is useless because it is neutralized by acid in the gut. I don't know though.
