That old man is cock strong. Some guys are like that. This makes me want to take boxing lessons, that's always been on my bucket list.

I've boxed once, in police academy. Did good.

Don't you think your time would be better served learning something like Krav Maga?

Never heard of this Krav Maga

Krav Maga / (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English)k (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)r (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)ɑː (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)v (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key) m (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)ə (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)ˈ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)ɡ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)ɑː (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)/ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English) (Hebrew (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_language): קְרַב מַגָּע [ˈkʁav maˈɡa] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_Hebrew), lit. "contact combat") is a self-defence system developed for the military in Israel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel) that consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from boxing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing), savate (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savate), Muay Thai (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muay_Thai), Wing Chun (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_Chun), Judo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judo), Jujutsu (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jujutsu), wrestling (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrestling), and grappling (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grappling), along with realistic fight training. Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and extremely efficient and brutal counter-attacks (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counter-attack).[1] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krav_Maga#cite_note-telegraph-1) It was derived from street-fighting (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_fighting) skills developed by Hungarian-Israeli martial artist Imi Lichtenfeld (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imi_Lichtenfeld), who made use of his training as a boxer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing) and wrestler (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrestling) as a means of defending the Jewish quarter against fascist groups in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bratislava,_Czechoslovakia) [2] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krav_Maga#cite_note-2) in the mid-to-late 1930s. In the late 1940s, following his immigration to Israel, he began to provide lessons on combat training to what was to become the IDF (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_Defense_Forces), who went on to develop the system that became known as Krav Maga. It has since been refined for civilian, police and military applications.[3] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krav_Maga#cite_note-3)
Krav Maga has a philosophy emphasizing threat neutralization, simultaneous defensive and offensive maneuvers, and aggression.[4] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krav_Maga#cite_note-4) Krav Maga is used by Israeli Defense Forces (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_Defense_Forces), both regular and special (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sayeret) forces, and several closely related variations have been developed and adopted by law enforcement and intelligence organizations, Mossad (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mossad) and Shin Bet (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Bet). There are several organizations teaching variations of Krav Maga internationally.[5] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krav_Maga#cite_note-5) [6] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krav_Maga#cite_note-6) [7] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krav_Maga#cite_note-7)

He wasn't doing much boxing, more like wiping the smirk off the younger guys face. He did stop laughing and smiling.

Possibly, yes. We did learn some of that in academy. Good video.

But I'm looking for sport, not street fighting survival. This is a good video on street fighting. Break whatever you can, as quick as you can. Kick to the balls. Joints, break them. Wrists, elbos, take them out. Arm bars, wrist locks. Brutal shit, but in a street fight no rules.

If you're looking for sport, try fencing. I assure you that you will get a good workout and less broken noses.

The thing I like about boxing, is it's just two men, going toe to toe. It was a rush, the one time I boxed, the guy was taking my lunch money big time. Something inside me kicked in, my animal spirit, they say. I knocked that guy down 3 time after that.

The animal spirit is real.

Bite your tounge .....i had the surprise of meeting a national fencing as i assure you the rigors of that sport are exstrodinary.

He had to retire because he tore his legs and knees up from constant lunging and covering 10-15 feet in less time then it takes you to blink.

And just one more thing.

The blow that is struck in a fencing match is always center mass with speed and force mimicking a bullet.

A sword strike unprocted would kill you.

That is why fencing matches are no more that one to three strikes.

Words of wisdom to young men - never tell some 'old man' how you're going to 'open up a can of whup ass' on 'em or otherwise threaten to get physical with 'em 'cause they'll just go ahead and shoot your dumb ass.
