Under the new rules, state officials will establish a risk level by considering the countries that people have visited and their level of possible exposure to Ebola.

The patients with the highest level of possible exposure will be automatically quarantined for 21 days at a government-regulated facility. As WCBS 880’s Rich Lamb reported, those patients include anyone having direct contact with a person infected with Ebola while in Liberia, Guinea, or Sierra Leone.

Christie predicts quarantine will be 'national policy'

http://www.politico.com/blogs/politico-live/2014/10/christie-quarantine-will-be-national-policy-197638.html

"It was my conclusion that we needed to do this to protect the public health of the people of New Jersey," Christie said. "[New York] Gov. [Andrew] Cuomo agreed, and now [Chicago] Mayor [Rahm] Emanuel agrees, and I think the CDC eventually will come around to our point of view on this."

Quarantined nurse blasts Gov. Christie as lawyer prepares to fight for her freedom

Hickox, who returned from working with Ebola victims in Sierra Leone, has retained civil rights attorney Norman Siegel to sue for her freedom in New Jersey federal court later this week.

“The mandatory quarantine policy enacted by Govs. Christie and Cuomo creates serious and substantial civil liberties issues,” Siegel, the former head of the New York Civil Liberties Union, told the Daily News. “The policy infringes on Kaci Hickox’s constitutional liberty.”

My analysis: this was contrived by Cuomo and Christie, both liberals (the latter a RINO), to discredit protection of public health measures, such as keeping them out altogether. President Ebola, despite his feigned protests, was fully-aware of this in advance, and approved of it. It is notable that Rahm Emanuel is also in support of it (see the Politico story). I imagine the Jewish lawyer will be successful in getting this formally quashed, and further efforts, especially in the case of an actual positively-infected case, will be permanently neutralized.

I do not support this form of "preventative" quarantine, due to likely abuse. The solution should be keeping anyone who goes to the hot zone out of America altogether until they are proven safe.

They are allegedly keeping her in a tent outside of a hospital, and this is her toilet:

The "extreme" conditions she is being held in - unnecessary, and not medically-appropriate - are calculated to get public support against any public health protection measures.
