The US Mint has just issued an alert to Primary Dealers across the US that Silver Eagle inventories, which according to the Mint began today at over 2 million ounces, are now SOLD OUT as of 12:30pm EST.

The Mint has reportedly sold through over 2 million ounces in less than 2 hours!
It appears that the $15.50 level was the line that broke the camel’s back regarding physical inventories, as physical demand has simply EXPLODED on this morning’s futures dip below $15.20.

*SDBullion took delivery of 10 Monster Boxes of Silver Eagles from the US Mint this morning, and currently have 20 monster boxes left in inventory.
When they’re gone, they’re gone!

At approximately 1pm EST, one of the largest Primary Dealers in the US issued a notice to all purchasers that premiums for ANY PREVIOUSLY PLACED PURCHASES FOR SILVER EAGLES ARE NO LONGER VALID!

Silver eagles from the mint sold now won't have the big mark-ups like private sales. We need those new sales to trickle down. The prognosis is that we are not at bottom yet, so there may still be much opportunity to stack a few... but I am not buying yet. We may have months yet, before things change.

Save away those very valuable dollars that are fully backed by the faith and credit of our fine government. Some day in the next 4 months you may want to do something really stupid like buy a boat load of silver... once the physical price comes down with reasonable dealer fees.

Right now the dealers holding stock are getting killed. they cannot sell that inventory near spot. Let the prices continue to drop and fresh silver flow into the market at reduced prices. I am smelling $12 / ozt as a viable option fairly soon. Deflation is wonderful. The world is about to see destruction that can no longer be papered-over.
