Question about my 1996 Porsche 993

I've recently looked up the price and they're selling for, and I was kinda shocked, they're going for between 55K and 60K

Well I've dumped close to 18K in the past two years professionally rebuilding the motor and transmission so it runs better than new, but I still need another 5K to clean up the paint etc.

I rarely drive it because I drive it like I stole it and nowadays the cops are handing out tickets like candy so the driving experience sucks.

The question is, would it be worth putting the 5K into it, selling it and picking up PM's or just keeping on to it because in two years it becomes a classic and it might even go up more and there's not that many of them left.

Then it's settled then. A good ride is like a good dog or a good girl-friend. The new one might not live up to the old one. If you love it, you better keep it.

That is a good point. $55 to $65,00 is a lot of dough. At least for now.

May seem impossible today, but 3-4000 ounces of silver ($55-65k) today may be worth $500,000 in a few years time. It was worth $150-200,000 three years ago, and it was worth 25-35,000 six years ago. If you don't even dare driving it, buy silver and wait for the ridiculous. Don't waste time and silver on the paint job it looks fine...

Most cars just drop in value over time unless they are really special. Your Porsche is no different. The paint looks good from 20 feet, just leave it.

Not sure what it is about this car style but I like it. Don't think it as practical as the full convertible. The roof mechanism is a bit weird as well. I call it typical Porscheoddity.

I don't know why, but those big BMW's didn't hold their value. I think Porsche. will do better, unless it's the generation right after that one. I personally wouldn't sell it, but GoD can dump all that $$$ into Au/AG and buy a Porsche 918 in the not too distant future -- with money to spare.
