When ever I go somewhere I make sure that my dog is ok, when I started my trip at noon time my fat ass dog was gone once again...I decided not to worry about it (to hell with him)....about half a mile from my home I look at the rear view mirrow and there he was...running about fifty miles an hour after my car, I sotoped and told my buddy to take care of him that I would pick him up later...didn't want to drive all the way home again.
A block from the VA I decide to eat lunch and I went for a street vendor........I was eating my burrito and the danm thing broke all over me............CRAP.
At the hospital the DR was one hour late.......she check me out for my arm and made an appointment with the chiro........told her that for the past three monts I was dizzy and that once in a while I was walking in the direction that I didn't wanted to go......took my blood preassure ......first time 198 and second time 189, she was for about 10 minutes reading my medical history and decided that I had a stroke........UFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF....told her that I dind't tke my BP pills because they don't work and then she wanted to give me FIVE, I say again, FIVE different pill at the same time.....told her NO WAY.
I then gave my blood (even thou I had just eaten) and gave my piss (took one about 1/2 hour before) put some crap all around my chest (about ten of them) to check my heart and did a bunch of other things...............now I have to go back on the 12 of for a head scan to see if all is in order......even if I am crazy.
Coming back I ran over a dead dear on the road and half a mile away I saw and F-250 parked by the side of the road with this guy checking his truck with a flash light.
Ah, the Dr told me that I could go blind and that I could be paralise one of this days.........what the hell would you guys do without me, uffffff. You turkeys would probably get drunk celebrating ahhahaahahahahahah.

Only thing that would really, really, really, bother me would be not been able to read........my eyes are my window to the world and specially as much as I read.. but taking FIVE diferent pill on the same day? specially after never taking anything like that?.........it would be a shock to my body.

Ponce, you probably already know, but, eating good quality meat and good quality leafy veggies will support your health. My mother lost her ability to read after her cataract operation, she did not use the drops according to the schedule, it was very depressing for her.
You can get some high quality juices, like "Evolution" brand, but it is expensive. Cheapest is to eat some spinach or kale, get the freshest you can. I have heard that red beets are very good for blood flow to the brain and I suppose, eyes as well. So if you just eat beets or get some beet soup it will be good for you.

Amigo!
You are not so young anymore and what was normal when you were young, probably is killing you a bit at a time now! I have yet met or known anyone with strong Hispanic blood that were not hardheaded and stubborn to a fault! Have know mules and donkeys that were more agreeable and less stubborn or hardheaded!
You really need to work with the doc's to try and get your BP down...Now!
I know messing with the med's are a pain in the ass, been on them for a few months and I do have issues with them, and will let the va know that there are issues with the med's they have me on now, tho they have brought my pressures down into safer pressures, but I do like the ideal of living as long as I can, so I will work with the doc to see if there is a combo (med's) that will work with me with out any issues.
we are in interesting times and I would hate to miss the show/history being played out in these times.
I am like you I love to read and our windows to this world are the only set we are issued at our creation, so if anything try and do something about it. Some said diet, and that is a great ideal, if you can afford it treat yourself like the king you are (or think so) lol!
Up until a few months ago I was proud to make it to almost 64 and not needing any med's other than aspirin. Now have 3 med's that do work to bring my BP down, but as I said there are issues that need to be worked out!
If you do like living without being crippled at the least or planted into the ground before you are ready to checkout the other side, work with the doc's to try and help yourself!
Nuff said!
Yea, how is the dog?

Ponce.... Please find a BP med that works for you and dont wait! High BP has many side effects like blindness or organ failure. It WILL kill you. Some meds have bad side effects for me... but I found one that worked well and I got my BP down to normal within 3 days. DON'T wait! Pleas my friend. It makes no sence to end a life prematurely for the lack of a daily pill! You have ralked about this for months and months. Time to act is now.
The world needs you Ponce. Remember if you cant hold Ponce... you dont own good enough hand cuffs!

Pills are never the first or second choice, but, because you are at the situation you are now, consider some of the long-standing generic meds like Beta Blockers or an ACE inhibitor. The side effects are there, but relatively minimal for most. You'll be looking at meds that end in "-ilol" and "-pril" generally.
Don't give in to any demands to take a statin (anti-cholesterol pill), though. Both unnecessary and dangerous.

Take some meds, Ponce. I haven't heard all your stories yet.
The first time I got high blood pressure, I wasn't feeling right so I went to the Proctologist next door. I went there because it was close and it gave him something different to look at. The nurse showed me to a room and took my blood pressure. Then she took it again. Then she took it with the mercury column unit on the wall. The she said" Wait here." She got the doc and he took my pressure. Then he took it again. Then he took it with the one on the wall. He said "Lie down." He left the room and returned with a syringe that he jammed into me without an alcohol wipe or anything. He had the nurse continuously monitor my pressure. I began to get curious about this time so I asked the nurse what my blood pressure was at it's highest. She said she wasn't sure but she saw 480/160 on the way down. The doc had a talk with me. No more fast food, no more salt, drink vast amounts of plain water and find an aerobic form of exercise or die. He put me on pills that barely allowed me to move. I did what he said and took up fencing. I six months, I was off the pills and enjoying fencing.
The second time, I got married and I've been on pills for 19 years. Oh well.

Wowwwwwwwwwww, 480?, mine was only 226 and they went crazy......the machine went beep, beep, beep.....I am told that it was the first time that it did that.........with 460 it would probably blown up, they would think that you were a terrorist.....by the way, they also use the mercury one with the same result.
I don't mind telling you guys that I am getting a little bit more dizzy......but don't worry because I am not.
