Cameron Texas- A 2-year-old was killed while in foster care, and her foster mother will now serve a life sentence for the crime

Alex Hill was placed in foster care after her father admitted to using marijuana according to the Houston Press.

Joshua Hill told Texas child welfare investigators that he smoked after the child was in bed at night. A case worker determined that the father’s marijuana use and the mother’s medical condition (frequent seizures) warranted removal from the home.

The toddler had appeared healthy and happy with her parents, but she was placed into the foster care system in early 2013.

On Tuesday Alex’s foster mother, Sherill Small, was sentenced to life in prison for the July 2013 death of the little girl, who would have turned four on Friday.

Alex’s parents, Joshua Hill and Mary Sweeny, had reported bruises on their child during visitations, but were never told about Small’s numerous violations.

Four months before Hill was set to regain custody he received a call that Alex was in the hospital. Small admitted to police that she had slammed the child onto the floor, saying it was an accident.

Alex’s autopsy revealed several bruises all around her body, and a medical examiner stated her head hit the floor so violently that she had “subdural hemorrhaging, subarachnoid hemorrhaging, and retinal hemorrhaging in both eyes,” according to court testimony.

What may be one of the most frustrating parts of the case, Sherill Small’s husband that lived in the home while Alex was there, was himself a recovering crack cocaine addict and admitted to multiple drug charges.

The couple admitted this information during the home study portion of their foster application, but their home was still considered a “safe environment.”

I would track down every social worker who had a hand in that kids case and put a bullet in their head. Then maybe they'll learn not to take peoples kids away from them for bullshit petty Marijuana use.

Not enough. They would die too quick.

Even the Moszambique drill would not be enough for the evil murdering bitches that had a hand in this.

The little girl was placed in "Protective Custody."

If that's "protection," I'm fully-confident she would have preferred the "abuse" of her parents.

Rest in Peace, little one.

I was courted by CPS, and told everyone I would never, ever work for CPS. Not because I don't love children, but because I do. I would never have forgiven myself if I made a life-destroying mistake, and I could not and would not have "followed orders" when the order was wrong.

Pay attention to what happens here ... "mistakes were made" "policies and procedures that were in-place, were not followed" etc.

Whatever BS they spout, the answer is never "let's cut their budget" or "let's fire all the bureaucrats involved and make sure they never get hired by a CPS in any other states, ever again".

YOU have to be accountable to the State, yet, the State never has to be accountable to you.

Accountability ends at the ballot box. Which is why "they" want everyone to vote. Voting is consent.

The problem is that one would never get close enough to the ultimate perps of this crime. imo the best thing would be a complete house-cleaning...if you follow me.

The reason why you cant touch the ultimate perps is because there is army of suckups that will gleefully eat the few scraps that fall off the table as long as they are assured they can lord over a few of their brethren.

Start to demostrate what s "dangerous" occupation that is and it wont be long before you can square up with the true offenders.

Their is no faster way to teach somebody than to be made a example of.
