Denial is not a river in Egypt. What will it take to wake up? Or have we allowed ourselves to be so dis-empowered that we have thrown in the towel? If so, is self destruction imminent? I sure hope not.

WHY do you persist in browbeating others over YOUR OWN shortcomings??

Wisdom is knowing not to stick one's head over the rampart least it get taken off.
The ONLY trustworthy folks around you are: 1) relatives that you know how they conduct themselves and they're PRUDENT; 2) people with whom you grew up and ARE LIKE FAMILY; 3) someone you've know for 20 years or more and have been closely associated with so that you can be reasonably certain what to expect from them (condition in 1 applies also to 2 & 3). Anyone else should remain at arm's length unless and until they've proven themselves in extremis.

The "quiet" ones are the most dangerous, and usually, effective.

That's not enough to cut it unless your immediate family is strong enough to to repel invaders once the center doesn't hold.
There will be violent entrepreneurs out there, a lot of them will be stronger, younger and they have a real hatred of the boomer generation that are padding their pockets and leaving the cupboard bare.
Each group will need a leader who will stand with them by their side and not waiver whatever comes.

A true leader is the one serves the most.
Would ask nothing of others that he has not done or would do.
Leads from the front.
Attentive to the needs of his comrades.
Willing to heed the council of others.
Never wasteful with resources.
Has a sense of justice.
Merciful to the young and weak.
Realises he will make many mistakes because he is falliable but is willing to accept responsibility for his mistakes
Knows there is a higher power that oversees it all.
Tires not to be a asshole on purpose.
