Moscow (AFP) - Vladimir Putin intends to cut short his attendance at the Group of 20 summit in Brisbane on Sunday, a Russian source said as the strongman faces intense pressure from the West over Ukraine.

"The programme of the second day (for Putin) is changing, it's being cut short," a source in the Russian delegation told AFP on condition of anonymity.
Putin will attend summit sessions on Sunday but will skip an official lunch and address reporters earlier than planned, the source said, adding:
"Lunch is more of an entertainment."
The source denied that Putin was bowing out under pressure from top Western leaders, who accused him of "bullying" ex-Soviet Ukraine.
"There were no scandals," the source said.

A Kremlin spokesman said earlier on Russian radio: "The G20 summit will be over tomorrow, Putin will certainly leave it, when all the work is completed the president will leave."
He denied that pressure from Western leaders, who have threatened Russia with more sanctions if fighting in eastern Ukraine intensifies, forced Putin to change plans.
"Sanctions are being actively and broadly discussed at all bilateral meetings but no one is putting pressure," Peskov said.
"This is complete nonsense," he told Russian reporters separately. "This is a usual, routine situation."
Putin is facing huge pressure from top Western leaders over Russia's support for a separatist insurgency in eastern Ukraine, with British Prime Minister David Cameron accusing Russia of "bullying a smaller state in Europe."

During a closed-door meeting between Cameron and Putin earlier Saturday, the British prime minister had warned that the Russian strongman had a choice to make, according to a Downing Street source.
"The prime minister was clear at the start of the Ukraine discussions that we face a fork in the road, in terms of where we go next," the source said, quoted by British media.
"We can either see implementation of the Minsk agreement and what follows from that in terms of an improvement of relations," the source said, referring to peace accords.
"Or we can see things go in a very different way in terms of relations between Russian and the UK, Europe and the US."
The West accused Russia this week of sending fresh military hardware into eastern Ukraine, fuelling fears of a return to all-out conflict.

- 'Lost glories of tsarism' -
In an apparent sign of palpable tensions between the two leaders, Putin and Cameron chose to conduct their meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit behind closed doors.
They greeted each other and shook hands but eschewed any pleasantries in front of the cameras, waiting for reporters to leave the room before they started speaking, Russian news agencies said.
The Kremlin however sought to put a positive spin on the meeting, saying that Putin and Cameron expressed mutual interest in seeing Russia and West mend fences.
"Vladimir Putin and David Cameron noted interest in restoring ties between Russia and the West and adopting efficient measures to settle the Ukraine crisis which will facilitate the renunciation of confrontational sentiments," the Kremlin said in a statement.
Peskov, speaking to Russian reporters, added:
"They also spoke about the fundamental reasons for the current discord in ties between Russia, the United States and a number of European countries."
Going into the summit, US President Barack Obama said Russia's aggression against Ukraine was "a threat to the world" and called the shoot-down of MH17 over the rebel-held east of the ex-Soviet country in July "appalling".
The G20 host, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, for his part, accused Putin of trying to relive the "lost glories of tsarism".

Were MH17 'satellite images' photoshopped? Report slams new surveillance pictures released by Russian state broadcaster as a 'shoddy fake'

Images of a fighter jet shooting down flight MH17 have been labelled 'fakes'
Investigative journalism site, Bellingcat, says there are several inconsistencies with the images reported by Russian TV
It claims the images have shown the wrong airline logo, they did not depict a Boeing 777 and the type of fighter jet reported was also wrong
'Leaked' satellite images showed a missile streaking towards the MH17 flight, claiming it was shot down by a Ukranian war plane
The Russian Kremlin-owned channel, who released the images, suggested a State crime was committed

An investigative journalism site has ripped apart reports the Malaysian Boeing MH17 was shot down by a Ukranian war plane, claiming to have exposed the images as possibly photoshop fakes.
A report by Russian state television claimed to have discovered a 'sensational' satellite photo of the last seconds of the doomed flight over Ukraine.
The release of 'leaked' satellite images show a missile hurtling towards the passenger plane, while it was also claimed that the space pictures were from a British or US satellite.
But following the release of these images, Bellingcat (https://www.bellingcat.com/news/2014/11/14/russian-state-television-shares-fake-images-of-mh17-being-attacked/)said suspicions were immediately raised by a number of online aviation experts, debating the inconsistencies, which lead to claims they were indeed 'fakes'.

Aviation experts claims the images are actually fakes pointing out there is several issues including the type of aircraft (pictured) which conclude it is not a Boeing 777

Suspicions arose on Twitter that the images were not real including comparisons to the fighter jet (pictured) which was claimed to have shot down MH17

Bellingcat says it is clear that the satellite map imagery was created from a composite of different satellite map imagery

The news couldn't come at a worse time for Russian President Vladimir Putin who has already faced a rather cold reception by other world leaders at the G20 summit in Brisbane after Western leaders piled pressure on Mr Putin for the crisis in Ukraine and threatened more sanctions.
The flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was travelling over the conflict-hit region when it disappeared from radar.

Koalas save the world.............again.......
'It’s called a koala, Tony': Twitter explodes after Abbott trades 'shirtfronting' Putin for cuddly joint pic

Twitter users have had a field day with Australian PM Tony Abbott’s claim that he would “shirtfront” Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit over the MH17 crash – because the leaders' face-to-face encounter actually resulted in a...koala cuddle.
Yes, that’s right. Social media is abuzz with photos of Abbott and Putin snuggling up to the world’s cutest marsupial, even though previous statements had almost guaranteed that a scuffle was in the works.
When the soft, furry critter sunk its claws into Putin’s suit, the Australian PM seemed to feel quite soft and fuzzy inside himself; a smackdown shoulder charge appeared to be the last thing on his mind.
Abbott’s remark came back in October, after he told journalists tha

t he would “shirtfront” the Russian president on the sidelines of the G20 summit over the MH17 tragedy.
“I am going to shirtfront Mr. Putin – you bet I am – I am going to be saying to Mr. Putin [that] Australians were murdered, they were murdered by Russian-backed rebels,” Abbott said.

Twitter users wondered why the promised “shirtfront” was nowhere to be found.
'Shirtfront' is a football term for a front-on chest bump or rough handling aimed at knocking a rival backwards to the ground. It is a “reportable offence and considered illegal,” according to the Australian Football Rules website.
Abbott has faced his fair share of criticism both online and in the media lately. Most recently, he came under fire for stating that before colonization in 1788, the country was “nothing except bushes” (http://rt.com/news/205687-abbott-indigenous-people-bush/) – apparently forgetting about the country's indigenous peoples.
Meanwhile, the only “shirtfronting” to take place happened on Friday at the official greeting for the G20 summit in Brisbane – but it wasn't by Abbott; it was by Canadian PM Stephen Harper.
Putin approached the Canadian PM with his hand extended, which Harper shook while simultaneously accusing Putin of sending troops to Ukraine.
“Well I guess I’ll shake your hand, but I only have one thing to say to you: you need to get out of Ukraine,” Harper said, as cited by his spokesman Jason MacDonald.
According to the Kremlin’s press service, Putin’s reply was that “unfortunately it is impossible – because we are not there.”
Western media is closely following every step of the Russian president at the G20 summit. After his meetings with British PM David Cameron and France’s President Francois Hollande, Reuters cited “an unnamed source in the Russian delegation” claiming that Putin planned to leave the summit early after Western leaders' pressure over the Ukraine crisis.
Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denied those reports, saying they were simply wrong.
"The G20 summit ends tomorrow [on Sunday] and Vladimir Putin will surely leave it – when all the work is finished,” he told Kommersant FM radio.

And Cameron says, I didn't need to bring a fleet. No because you don't got one treason boy. You f'ked your fleet up.
