The online report say 40 degrees that feels like 40......but not up here in the hills, took my dog for his moning walk but next time I will give him a mile long leash and send him on his on.
Leaves falling from the trees like snow and there is not one square inch of ground without at least two of then on it.

Happy to say that my solar heat box outside has taken over so that my Toyo kerosene heather has not turened on for a while......this summer I placed some bricks (painted black) inside of the solar heat box so that it even has conserved heat after the sun goes down...sun is now really bright with the cat and dog sleeping in it like angels.......devils in disquise.

23 degrees where I'm at right now, supposed to be in single digits overnight. A good test to see if the heater keeps up in the rv. Had a water pipe freeze last night. Coldest past week I've seen, been playing around in the mountains in the high country. Must have logged over 50 miles in the past few days slogging through the snow.

Had a water pipe freeze last night.
You need to leave the water run at a drip so it keeps moving and can't freeze. Or you can get those pipe wraps to keep things warm.
About 29 now, supposed to hit 18 later tonight. Yeastern TN, This is NOT normal here. High says 29 tomorrow, electric heat sucks.

Thanks Cebu. I am trying this tonight. The pipe wrap is a good idea, but the pipe that froze was from the tank to the water pump. Getting access to it will be difficult, unfortunately. So far the heater has been working great, it's cold, probably in the teens with a 15 knot wind shaking things up.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, getting cold once again.......I just turn on the hot tub, should be ready in about an hour......I use it and it also will preserve the heat so that the pipes wont freeze.........the colder the weather the more that I like the hot tub outside and specially when it snows.

Brother, this cold weather is not what we are used to. Up on the mountain, I had to fight to keep my toes from getting frostbite, I was worried. When we moved through the snow, my toes kept warm, but when we stopped they were effing cold. My camel back water tube would freeze, unless I kept water moving through it. It kept freezing, and I fixed that by putting the mouth end against my skin, then chewing on the tube to break up the ice. Crunch crunch crunch. Water moved then. My hands would freeze without my gloves, and without my hands, my gloves would freeze. You become a marriage with your gear to survive.

Put it near the air purifier for flow, this should work.
Strange thing is the main room is 2x the size of the bedroom yet takes half the energy to heat. I consider a room to be 4 walls, if they have windows or an outside wall I call that a cold wall. Front room is 2x a bedroom so = 8 walls. 2 with big windows and 6 warm walls. Bedroom is 2 rooms but a blanket divider... 2 cold walls and 2 warm not counting the blanket divider room. Altho half the size takes 2x the electricity to heat which just does not make sense right now.
Good place to hang the pottery.

I think hell is supposed to be hot. Where I was it has been cold. We did bag 2 elk though. It was my first hunting trip, what an adventure. 5 days of getting up at 4am, hiking through the snow until dark, then doing it again the next day. I get to sleep in tomorrow though.

The coldest air since last winter, now over the Plains and Midwest, will blast into the East during the first half of this week.
The core of the frigid air will focus over the northern Plains and the Great Lakes through at least Wednesday with overnight lows (http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/national/weather-forecast-maps) dipping down into the teens, single digits and even near zero F in the coldest spots.
Bone-chilling nights will be followed up by frosty cold days with highs struggling to reach the 20-degree mark over the regions on Tuesday. Some locations in the Central states are forecast to stay below 20 F until Wednesday afternoon, including Minneapolis (http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/minneapolis-mn/55415/weather-forecast/348794).
Temperatures this low can make it dangerous for outdoors activities if you are not wearing the proper clothing.
While much of the Northeast escaped the cold on Monday, the arctic air will sweep through the region by Tuesday.
http://vortex.accuweather.com/adc2004/pub/includes/columns/newsstory/2014/650x366_11172126_hd22.jpg
Highs temperatures from Washington, D.C., through New York City (http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/new-york-ny/10007/weather-forecast/349727) are forecast to stay near or below freezing on Tuesday, levels that would be considered below normal even during the heart of winter.
A biting wind from the northwest will make it feel even colder with AccuWeather.com RealFeel® staying in the teens throughout the day along the I-95 corridor.

Feet of Lake-Effect Snow to Bury Communities Around Great Lakes (http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/lake-effect-snow-great-lakes-buffalo/37517895)
A significant lake-effect snow event will set up downwind of the Great Lakes (http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/lake-effect-snow-great-lakes-buffalo/37517895) as the arctic air blows over the comparatively warm waters of the lakes.
The stage is set for feet of snow to pile up in some communities downwind of the Great Lakes. In some cases, the heaviest snow squalls in these areas can produce thunder and lightning.
Gusty winds will blow around the fresh snow, creating large drifts and near-blizzard conditions at times, making travel very difficult.
http://vortex.accuweather.com/adc2004/pub/includes/columns/newsstory/2014/650x366_11172131_hd21.jpg
This arctic outbreak will not only be limited to the northern Plains, Midwest and Northeast but will reach into the Deep South.
Record lows will be challenged on multiple occasions through midweek from eastern Texas to the Carolinas with lows near freezing along much of the Gulf coast.
Parts of northern Florida may even have their first freeze of the season as lows dip down into the 20s in cities such as Jacksonville and Tallahassee.
According to Southern Weather Expert Dan Kottlowski, "A freeze will not reach into citrus-growing areas of South Florida, but there may be some issues for other fruits and some vegetables grown in northern and north-central counties of the state."
http://vortex.accuweather.com/adc2004/pub/includes/columns/newsstory/2014/650x366_11180926_hd29.jpg
The intensity of the cold is expected to lessen as temperatures begin to moderate heading into the second part of the week.
However, highs from Atlanta, Georgia, to Albany, New York, and westward through Aberdeen, South Dakota, will remain below normal until at least the weekend.

-10 F here this morning. I've had some trouble with diesel fuel jelling up. It takes a few days but you get used to the colder weather. We've had winds with gusts to 40 or 50 mph the last few days. The wind really drives the cold in. Supposed to get above 32F today for the first time since this colder weather moved in.

It's been in the high teens here; Northern Michigan. Snow blowing all day, about a foot on the ground at least. My pole barn is going slow. The trusses went up yesterday but no work today. Too cold and snowy. The steel and windows and doors arrived though. Had to jump start the drivers fork lift. Diesel wouldn't fire because of the cold.
This global warming is going to freeze us all to death.
