This sucks, it's never been as hard as this one is.
I guess you get more sentimental about things as you get older?
We've been struggling with this for a while now, but my Brittany's cancer has gotten worse.
A tumor on her cheek, under her eye, has been growing and today she's scratched it open.
It's so sad to put down a dog that is still happy.
This dog has always worshipped me.

So sorry! This is one of the hardest things I had ever needed to do! Just remember that you will be ending their suffering and doing what is best! It really doesnt make you feel better right away to understand this... but its true. I waited two weeks too long and it was wrong on my part. I just could let him go. I finally realized it was best for both of us. So sorry!

Not sure I can wait until morning. She's scratched it open, it's bleeding and she is starting to squeal when she rubs it.

Then don't. Take immediate action. Your girl is depending on YOU to show her mercy and relieve her pain. I suggest you drop everything you're doing and take care of her immediate needs.

Sorry to hear it.
I know how somewhat-attached I am to my chickens.
Not SUPER-attached, they're just chickens.
I figure, 3 chickens = 1 dog, in terms of "Pet Quality".

I have a call in to the Vet
My vet and I have an understanding and we are on the same page - in an instance like this where there's an immediate need/emergency his staff gets me in straightaway OR I end up at the after hours emergency clinic he owns and they take care of us there without any hassles or static. My vet very clearly knows where I stand so everything is always prearranged regardless of the circumstances. (This is largely due to an episode where he misdiagnosed my geriatric female and she suffered for an inordinate amount of time, now I get to make the call and I'm very quick to come to a conclusion.)

One of the greatest Honors and The heaviest Burden is to be the advocate for those that love us.
God Bless Brother.
Find that strenght to return her to a State of Dignity and Perpetual Happiness.

Let him be in the same beautifull place where my favorite little cat went to, let them be at the same place where we will go to and let us play with them as we did in the past........let the future be as in the past.
Sorry about your lost, but at least he was with someone who loved him and he made happy.

It's so hard letting these wonderful creatures go and with their unconditional love.
I know many here have gone through this, and know how hard it is to wake up in the morning expecting to see your good friend get up with you and waiting eagerly for her morning cookie.
It sad at the moment to see her close buddy searching the house and yard for her.
All I can do is try to keep her occupied with food, rawhides and attention.
The experience at the Vet was not an easy one. My baby fought hard for life, she howled in her last moment.
Even the lady Vet cried. It shows she is compationate and loving of all creatures.
When we stepped outside after, a strong gust of wind blew for about 5 seconds and then stopped. Could it have been carrying her soul off?
Time will heal this wound like others and we will always keep a place in our hearts for our loving friends.
Thanks for all the good wishes,
Bob
Add: I'll have these two photos printed and framed soon.

It was the stroke of the Angel's Wings carrying her off to the Happy Hunting Grounds.
You did right be her....you did right by her.
Let that be peace enough.
