I was looking around at knives. I got side tracked on eBay and was curious about seeing Buck knives for sub $10. I know a bargain when I see one so I figured that an eBay copy knife would be a poor purchasing decision.

Looking around you can see that Buck Knives are not really all that expensive anyway and are price competitive with most other big names out there. Seems that they have really improved and modernised their products.

The Buck 110 Hunter is a very well known knife. Been around 50 years now.

Pretty good price. I would prefer one with the finger grooves but I don't think you can get that variation in the anniversary model. The page says you can customise but I don't think you can customise this one, only the regular 110 model. I'm tempted to grab one of these for a keep sake and also get me a customised one.

on that link you gave the price is $73.00 . I have over 50 buck knifes and have never seen one for 10 paper backs .

no. that is right but I was on eBay when I saw cheap Bucks and also some S&W blades. You're not going to get much for $10 other than a copy knife. I was looking to see if any of the eBay models were actual Buck knife models when I saw the anniversary 110.

I thought I would share in case others wanted to pick up the 50th.

My "classy" EDC is an Alpha Hunter folder with Rosewood grip plates.

(my regular EDC is a Kershaw)

Unfortunately, like almost all other US knife makers, Buck has buckled and now offers Made in China pieces. Most continue to be Made in Idaho, though.

Example Chinese piece:

I have a 110, but I also have 2 Chinese pieces that I got for $14. They were normally $49, but they had them at the checkout for $14 opened, so I couldn't resist. This was a few of years ago.

In fact here they are for $12.99!

ok pretty cheap even from Buck themselves. I was surprised by the eBay cheapies. I looked but could not find a model from the eBay that matched a model made by Buck. They make a lot of knives so it's possible these were their knives. Some of them were just about $3 or so. Can't be much good for that kind of $$. If they are legit I would maybe buy in a bunch and try selling them here and there.

The Buck 110 is a classic. I think I paid $29 for mine at Academy Sports. Excellent knife for that price. Mine is the standard, non-Anniversary model. The little Anniversary plaque on the side is nice for a collectable but may be a nuisance on a working knife.
