On November 24 the FBI released stats showing the number of officers killed in the line of duty during 2013 decreased by approximately 40 percent at a time when private gun sales were breaking records.

According to the FBI (http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/fbi-releases-2013-statistics-on-law-enforcement-officers-killed-and-assaulted?utm_campaign=email-Immediate&utm_medium=email&utm_source=national-press-releases&utm_content=378446), 26 officers were "feloniously killed" with firearms in 2013. This figure is down from the 44 "feloniously killed" with firearms in 2012, and far below the 63 officers killed with firearms in 2011.

The number of officers "feloniously killed" with firearms has fallen as the number of annual private gun sales has risen.

The NRA-ILA reported (http://www.nraila.org/news-issues/articles/2012/record-nics-checks-in-2011.aspx) that were 16.4 million National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) background checks for firearm purchases conducted in 2011. (The 16.4 million includes Kentucky's monthly checks on concealed carry permit holders.) And Breitbart News reported (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/01/06/2013-Gun-Sales-Skyrocketed-Break-Previous-Record-By-Wide-Margin) this figure was surpassed by a record-setting 19,592,303 NICS background checks in 2012 which, in turn, was surpassed by a record-setting 21,093,273 NICS background checks in 2013.

And Breitbart News previously reported that the number of background checks do not signify the number the guns sold but the number of persons making gun purchases from a retailer. It legally possible that each person who underwent a background check then bought multiple guns, rather just one. With this in mind, the number of guns sold in 2013 could have been many times higher than the 21,093,273 background checks that occurred.

Moreover, private gun sales were also taking place--as they have since the 2nd Amendment was ratified in 1791.
And amid these record setting gun sales, the number of officers "feloniously killed" in the line of duty decreased significantly.
The FBI previously confirmed (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/11/10/FBI-Report-Confirms-Crime-Fell-While-Gun-Purchases-Soared-In-2013) that violent crime against private citizens also fell in 2013.

When I went for my (and wifes) CCW there were more elderly black folks in a mostly white county getting the permits than whites. They opened the times to get them from 8am-4pm to 7am-6:30pm Because there were so many people getting them. While we sat waiting I was more and more astounded of the people participating in gun carry than I ever read. It really was enlightening.

If you can't drive it is ok. All they want is positive ID and you can carry.

A lot of the older Black folk live in fear of the "youths" of their own race.

A lot of older cops fear of the youths of the same profession.

I would CONSERVATIVELY put the number of firearms purchased at the time of NICS at 3 per check which would put the number at 70 million units on the trackable side for year 13 just for giggles i will say 30 million units moved on the private side.

So what we have is on the LOW SIDE a 100 million guns per year going to the hands of people that DONT wanted to be messed with.

And as this lingers on expect that number to climb like a V9 rocket.

Those numbers are astounding numbers and a sure sign of Dark Days to come.

Yep......the ccw course is definately enlightening. You can really see where the police are coming from when dealing with thug criminals and what constitutes as a weapon and when. The fundamental "use force" law applys equally to the cops as well as the citizen.
I cant tress enough for every American to at least go through the course to understand what a cop expects of you and when with dealing with weapons.
If everyone knew the gun laws ...a lot less idiots wouldnt be getting killed out of ignorance.
