Washington (AFP) - The Missouri police officer who killed an unarmed black teen sparking months of protests in the city of Ferguson will never return to policing, his lawyer said.
Darren Wilson is currently in discussions with the Ferguson, Missouri police department on the terms and conditions of his departure, attorney Neil Bruntrager said this week.
"There's no way in the world he can go back to being a police officer," the lawyer said.
"It's not a question of if, it's a question of when," Bruntrager said of Wilson's departure.
Wilson shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown in August claiming he acted in self-defense.
The shooting set off days of racially-charged protests that erupted again this week after a grand jury on Monday announced that Wilson would not be charged over the fatal shooting.
Bruntrager told CNN that Wilson, who has said his conscience is clear, could simply not go back to work given the outrage over the case.
"The first day he would be back on the street something terrible would happen to him or to someone that would be working with him," he told CNN.
"The last thing he wants is to put other police officers at risk," the attorney added.

Here we have a hard working young man doing his job "AS INSTRUCTED" and because he meets up with a Giant who had stolen cigars, pushed around the Convenience Clerk and intimidated the Clerk, he is having to rethink his entire career. Definitely, he doesn't need to return to the Ferguson Police Department as the damn people in the community don't give a #$%$. All they know how to do is act like a bunch of nuts because the poor Officer didn't get the "death" penalty. This is outrageous. Just like O.J. - the blacks were so happy and carrying on when he was acquitted. Here's an instance where a black male kills two white people and walks away a free man and then BRAGS ABOUT IT. I believe Officer Wilson needs to hold his head up "high" and know he has a lot of people behind him. There are people in America that do respect the Police Officers, Firemen and even the AMERICAN FLAG. They don't protest with the Flag wrapped around them. Good-luck!

Anything you do that blacks don't like brings the racist card. I taught for 20 years in South Central Los Angeles. When I started it was half black. When I'd discipline a child half the time I'd get called into the VP's office (she was black and always had my back) and told that I was picking on them and I was a racist-they actually used that term, racist. At first I was really hurt, trying to explain to parents if I didn't care I'd let them be out of control. The fact I cared and wanted them to leave first grade being able to read and do math meant I'd discipline them. I mostly taught 2nd grade but I also taught K and 3rd so I know that if kids don't get the skills in the first couple of years they're doomed. After a few times of that I got really and angry and fed up. I left the black kids alone as long as they were quiet. They'd crawl on the floor under the tables all day and play with each other and chat softly. They learned absolutely nothing which I'm sure destroyed any academic chances. I've taught Hispanic, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Persian, Arab, Samoan, Tongan, a sprinkling of Eastern European and white kids and had a reputation as a strict teacher (with high test scores and the love of the year's teachers because my kids had skills often above grade level-my 2nd graders knew their times tables by the end of the year) and the only parents in my entire career who gave me grief were the black ones.

It is a shame that this has to happen. He just did his job and is being punished. Hopefully he could maybe change his name and continue in a profession he dearly loved somewhere else. What this country need is more Darren Wilson's serving on our police forces. I don't know what an officer is supposed they only have a split second to make a decision. This kid made a decision that took his own life by his actions and now officer Wilson is paying for this. I pray that Officer Wilson find a place if life where he is comfortable and safe.

Yes it is sad with all that has happened but we must remember he will retire with full benefits for the rest of his life. He can get a job with any company as long as it is not a police department. Many police officers do this and make double the pay for as long as he works where ever. He could end up getting the right job and now start makeing 6 figures in pay ( including his full benefits from the PD

One of the local stations in St. Louis has assigned a reporter to study the Grand Jury Transcript to convey his thoughts to the viewers. I didn't know they had a reporter that was an attorney, who can report in a way to insure the listeners that he has interpreted this report accurately. Give me a break. That's one of the problems with the news media. It seems that they need to keep the fire burning in order to keep their ratings up. If these news idiots would just give it a rest, then perhaps this violence and protesting would fade away. These peaceful protesters and the thug protesters just are out there to get media attention in the name of Michael Brown. Michael Brown was a thug, punk, bully, and thief and deserved exactly what he got.

During my wild youth, had run ins with the police, even some very corrupt crooked police officers. One time they beat me so bad, was placed in the hospital, very lucky to be alive. But when i look back on my life, now that i am older, i was with the wrong person, in the wrong place, at the right time. If i am ever stopped by the police will comply as to avoid trouble. They are armed, and have the law on there side. I was very bitter towards the police after they beat me, but i realize i was with someone who was nothing but trouble, did not know it at the time. Its best just to comply with what ever they ask you to do, you can always state your case in court. At least you will be alive to tell your side.
