Got to have Chocolate.

I go forth into the future with a freezer-full of "Denali Extreme Moose Tracks".

I didn't think home canned foods can last 30 years, sounds a bit overdone.

In general, the longer it lasts, the less it is really food (save for honey and a handful of other real food items).

Food, at least on the industrial level (which is what most people shove into their face) stops being food the more extensively it is processed for the purpose of long term stability.

Food that is fit for human consumption is inherently unstable, which it why it is valuable as food.

IOW, what crimethink said.

Probably most won't but my mom canned some cherries in 1960 and several quarts lasted until 2006.

I would have second thoughts but would trust your mom more than silver. PM me and send me some old cherries I can dump in vodka for next season.
