Corporations have to maintain profit margins. In a deflationary environment of ever shrinking sales, the necessity to satiate executive greed and fulfill dividend requirements, would lead to higher prices. Sell less, charge more, maintain the status quo....

Gas is lower than I have seen it in awhile. I havent seen butter, coffee or milk decline though.

Gas is insanely cheap here at the moment. Not helping me though. Diesel is not budging.

Inflation/Deflation relates to the money supply. As money is debt, it indicates how much debt is being created. At 3% new debt each year or Inflation, the Fed is usually happy. At less new money than the year before (or -ve % relative to last year) they have deflation, not happy.

I guess product prices reflect that the money that is being created is more expensive than previous money so companies are paying more to get the product to the shelf. I'm starting to sound like someone.

I dare you to speak the Truth to Norcini.

He insists that the only worthwhile inflation index is the Goldman Sachs commodity index.

Only things of value in Wisconsin are 1) cheese 2) Harley Davidsons and 3) Mercury outboards. Which of these are being deflated?

yes I saw that article where some hookers are charging 100% more. That's inflation.

yes I saw that article where some hookers are charging 100% more. That's inflation. When in country in Thailand, twenty sticks of Thai weed (Brick) cost one dollar in 1972.

In that same year OPAC raised oil prices big time and the dollar took a hit. That same twenty sticks instantly cost two dollars.

100% inflation markup!
