Rather than "To Serve and Protect" it should be "Too Big To Fail"...

Media propaganda. Truth is cops are training. Same with firefighters.
The fat donut cop is good for a laugh, and good for folks to think about and think it's reality.
I absolutely do not believe this article at all. No way this is true, and if you believe it's true...it's just what you want to believe.

I've witnessed plenty of fat cops personally. Of course, "most obese profession" should not be taken to mean "all cops are fat." Anyone who works is going to tend to be not grossly obese.

I think it's an agenda, personally. Make cops look weak, etc.
I don't think we should underestimate the media on something like this. Cops are not fat. They are training. Police state, remember that. What you mock and laugh at, is preparing.

I don't think there's an agenda to make cops look weak...quite the opposite. More like they are being made to look like vicious soulless thugs that mean extreme harm to anyone that challenges the corporate system they are paid to protect. Certainly they're not here to protect you, or I.
I see more cops that fit the profile of steroid abuse then are fat.
Steroid use, I believe is still over-looked on some police forces. It is almost always kept internal when cops are found to be taking them.
Funny how in some sports steroids are accepted and some have very strict policies against them.
In competitive cycling and baseball you get stripped of your title and/or banned from the sport...in football and bodybuilding competitions, not so much.
Put a gun in a sociopath's hands and give him the power over others lives, add steroids and departments that cover there use up...what do you get?

Agree!
For many years I have monitored the local cop radio bands and also watched them as the years have passed. Once up on a time, they were all body types, tall, short, thin and large.
Now they all look like walking fire plugs, no matter their height, and they are not fat, they look like they all work out both the men and women.
I firmly believe they all are on steroids to get that bulky.
I have not seen a skinny cop in many a year here.

The majority I've seen are fireplugs too.
It would be pretty hard to make cops look weak. They have guns they won't hesitate to use on anyone, or anything, intimidating military style clothing and equipment...and a police force and department that covers for their murders, crimes and abuse or power.
Nope, I'll never mistake them for being weak.

That's the problem with this article. They calculate BMI and assume the person is obese. Take a person like me, I just calculated this, if I did steroids and added 20 lbs of muscle, I would have a BMI of 30 and be labeled as obese.
BMI only accounts for height and weight. Weight in muscle, ie fireplugs, are going to be obese according to BMI.
Take Ronnie Coleman, a cop, and former Mr. Olympia. He's got a BMI of whooping 41, yet he looks like this.

Fat = Bulk = the ability to bulldoze unarmed victims into compliance.
